  • Patent number: 9212569
Abstract: Certain embodiments of the invention may include systems, methods, and apparatus for determining online stress and life of a heat recovery steam generator. According to an example embodiment of the invention, a method for assessing components of a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) is provided. The method includes receiving HRSG design parameters; monitoring thermal stress data from one or more temperature sensors in communication with one or more HRSG components; and determining cycle-related life consumption data associated with the one or more HRSG components based at least in part on the HRSG design parameters and the monitored thermal stress data.

  • Patent number: 9080765
Abstract: The embodiments described herein include a system and a method. In a first embodiment, a system includes a controller configured to control power plant operations. The system further includes a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) monitor communicatively coupled to the controller and configured to receive inputs corresponding to the power plant operations. The system additionally includes an HRSG life prediction model configured to predict an operating life for an HRSG component. The HRSG monitor uses the HRSG life prediction model and the inputs to communicate a control action to the controller.

  • Publication number: 20140359086
Abstract: Provided is a system configuration tool for execution on a computer and configured for managing physical field devices within a field device tool environment. The system configuration tool includes a communication device type manager (DTM) component and a first device DTM component configured for communicating, via the communication DTM component, with one of the physical field devices. The one physical field device has FDT capability. The system configuration tool also includes a second device DTM component configured for communicating, via the communication DTM component, with a virtual field device. The virtual field device is representative of another one of the physical field devices, the other physical field device being devoid of FDT capability.

  • Publication number: 20140358251
Abstract: Provided is a system hosted on a computer and configured for managing field devices. The system includes a configuration server configured for executing a system level configuration application responsive to first type interface specification standards. The configuration server manages (i) at least one of the field devices in accordance with the first type interface specification standards and (ii) another of the field devices in accordance with second type interface specification standards. The system also includes a graphical user interface (GUI) configured for displaying data associated with the at least one field device when the at least one field device is selected. An application, representative of the other field device, is displayed via the GUI when the other field device is selected.
