    Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for defining a content relevance model for determining whether a content segment is relevant to a particular category. The method receives a first set of content segments that contain content relevant to the particular category and a second set of content segments that contain content not relevant to the particular category. The method identifies a set of key word sets more likely to appear in the first set of content segments than the second set of content segments. The method defines a content relevance model that comprises a set of groups of word sets and a score for each group, each of the groups of word sets comprising a key word set from the set of key word sets and at least one word set found in a context of the key word set in at least one of the received content segments.

    Abstract: To measure usage of computing resources on a computer, a logging service running on the computer generates event data. The computer transmits the event data to an event processing system. With a large number of computers, each computer transmits its event data to the event processing system. The event processing system stores the event data in a storage system as a file system object, such as a stream or file, in which different data fields of the received event data are stored in a structured or semi-structured manner. The event data can be processed in parallel on different pivots using map-reduce operations. Such processing can include, but is not limited to, de-duplicating event data, aggregating event data related to a resource into measurements of usage of that resource, and grouping original data or aggregated data by user or group of user for further analysis and reporting.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing an improved heading estimate of a mobile device in a vehicle is presented. First, the mobile device determines if it is mounted in a cradle attached to the vehicle; if so, inertia sensor data may be valid. While in a mounted stated, the mobile device determines whether it has been rotated in the cradle; if so, inertia sensor data may no longer be reliable and a recalibration to determine a new relative orientation between the vehicle and the mobile device is needed. If the mobile device is mounted and not recently rotated, heading data from multiple sensors (e.g., GPS, gyroscope, accelerometer) may be computed and combined to form the improved heading estimate. This improved heading estimate may be used to form an improved velocity estimate. The improved heading estimate may also be used to compute a bias to correct a gyroscope.
