Abstract: Embodiments relate to a platform for providing information to a user based on the user's context. User context may be determined by the platform and may include the time and date, the user's location, the user's scheduled activities, the users current activities, the user's budget, the weather forecast at the user's location, etc. Agents, software components that may run in the cloud and may perform useful tasks for users, may be created and used by the platform. A topic is a collection of metadata that defines how information is handled in different situations. Topics may be created for and by users, may be associated with events and/or locations, and may be configured to use agents to provide potentially useful information, such as ads, coupons, notifications, and alerts, to users subscribed to the topic.
