  • Patent number: 10928602
Abstract: A fiber distribution system includes a fiber distribution terminal, an assembly separate from the fiber distribution terminal, a third fiber optic cable, and an end-user fiber optic device. The fiber distribution terminal includes a first fiber optic cable, a first rotatable spool storing a portion of the first fiber optic cable, and a first adapter optically coupled to the first fiber optic cable. The assembly includes a second rotatable spool storing a second fiber optic cable optically coupled to the first adapter, and a second adapter optically coupled to the second fiber optic cable. The third fiber optic cable is optically coupled to the second adapter. The end-user fiber optic device is optically coupled to the third fiber optic cable.

  • Publication number: 20150063815
Abstract: A fiber-to-the-antenna (FTTA) system includes a multi-fiber cable configured to be operatively coupled to fiber optic equipment on the ground, and a fiber optic demarcation unit comprising an adapter optically coupled to the multi-fiber cable. The FTTA system also includes a multi-fiber jumper cable comprising a push-pull connector at one end configured to optically couple to a respective adapter of the fiber optic demarcation unit. Additionally, the FTTA system includes a remote radio head optically coupled to one of the plurality of ports of the fiber optic demarcation unit. The fiber optic demarcation unit can include a strain relief device attached to a housing of the unit and to the multi-fiber cable such that a load of the multi-fiber cable is transferred from an interface between the multi-fiber cable and the housing of the fiber optic demarcation unit.

  • Patent number: 7331819
Abstract: Media converters for use in optical-to-electrical and electrical-to-optical conversion. A media converter includes an outer housing, an electrical plug disposed on one end of the outer housing, an optical cable disposed on an opposite end of the outer housing, and circuitry that connects to both the electrical plug and the optical cable. In this example, the circuitry receives electrical signals from the electrical plug and outputs corresponding optical signals to the optical cable. In addition, the circuitry also receives optical signals from the optical cable and outputs corresponding electrical signals to the electrical plug.
