  • Publication number: 20100238501
Abstract: A printing system includes a client machine into which a printing execution instruction is input; a print server machine communicatably connected to the client machine; and a printer communicatably connected to the print server machine. The client machine includes a printer driver that creates print data in response to the input printing execution instruction and sends the print data to the print server machine; and a status monitor that sends a status request regarding the printer to the printer server machine. The print server machine includes a print server that saves the print data received from the print driver of the client machine and, in response to a predetermined trigger, sends the saved print data to the printer or another server machine for transferring the print data to the printer; and a printer status information proxy that obtains status information regarding the printer from the printer.

  • Patent number: 7703904
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes: a recording medium interface that sets a recording medium having a predetermined specification; a printing data interface that receives printing data; a printer that performs printing; a non-volatile storage that stores a password, and usage/non-usage designating information indicating whether or not the recording medium interface is used; a usage/non-usage information changing portion that executes a process for changing the usage/non-usage information stored in the non-volatile storage according to an instruction by an operator, only when the operator inputs the password stored in the non-volatile storage; and a controller that executes a direct printing process for reading out information from the recording medium set in the recording medium interface and allowing contents indicated by the information to be printed by the printer, and a common printing process for allowing contents indicated by the printing data received by the printing data interface to be printed by the pri

  • Publication number: 20090237244
Abstract: An electronic device which obtains time from a real-time clock, the real-time clock keeping time with electric power supplied from a specific chargeable/dischargeable power supply, the real-time clock including: a discharge detecting unit which detects whether the power supply is discharging; a clock setup unit which sets a clock for the real-time clock; a clock setup flag which indicates whether the clock has been set by the clock setup unit; and a warning unit which issues a warning to encourage a user to set the clock in a period since the discharge of the power supply is detected until the clock is newly set, in which when the clock is set, the clock setup unit turns the clock setup flag on to indicate that the clock is set; when the warning unit issues a warning, the clock setup unit turns the clock setup flag off to indicate that the clock is not yet set; and the warning unit issues the warning when the clock setup flag is off.

  • Patent number: 7210868
Abstract: A printer includes: a print performing unit which can change a structure thereof and in which contents of an executable printing process change depending on the structure; an apparatus name information storing unit which stores a plurality of apparatus name information as identification information of the apparatus coordinated with the structure; and a request responding unit for transmitting the apparatus name information coordinated with the structure at that time when a prescribed request is received among the plurality of apparatus name information to an apparatus transmitting the request.

  • Patent number: 7202967
Abstract: When a control program is executed, it needs to be first decompressed and loaded into RAM. It has been impossible to immediately execute the control program when it is requested, causing a hindrance to processing speed acceleration. A printing apparatus is mounted with volatile memory that provides a main storage area. The printing apparatus specifies a second control program to be preferentially decompressed on the basis of a storage capacity of the volatile memory. The printing apparatus decompresses the specified second control program before execution and loads it into the volatile memory. Accordingly, there is no need for decompression and the like during execution of the second control program. It is possible to increase processing speeds of the first and second control programs.

  • Patent number: 4411998
Abstract: The present invention relates to a suppressing method of iso-citric acid formation in producing citric acid from hydrocarbons by fermentation. This process is carried out by culturing the microorganisms selected from the group belonging to Candida tropicalis, Candida lipolytica, Candida intermedia and Candida brumptii and their mutants and variants in the culture medium containing paraffinic and olefinic hydrocarbons and their mixture as carbon source under aerobic conditions, wherein specific non-ionic surface active agent is added to said culture medium. The specific non-ionic surface active agent added to said culture medium is selected from the group of sorbitan fatty acid esters and polyoxy-ethylene sorbitan fatty acid esters. The amount of specific surface active agent added to said culture medium is enough from 0.005 to 0.5 percent by weight, preferably from 0.02 to 0.2 percent on the weight basis of said culture medium.
