  • Patent number: 11932912
Abstract: The present specification discloses a method for detecting an aneuploid of a Brassica oleracea plant, including: performing real-time PCR using DNA extracted from a sample derived from a Brassica oleracea plant to be tested as a template and DNA markers specific to each of two or more chromosomes of Brassica oleracea plant; and detecting chromosomal aneuploidy from a relative difference in amplification amount between the obtained DNA markers. According to one embodiment of the present invention, it is possible to simply, accurately, and rapidly detect an off-type (chromosomal aneuploid) that may occur in Brassica oleracea varieties, in a laboratory equipped with a general molecular biological equipment in the course of seed quality control and breeding research.

  • Publication number: 20240016111
Abstract: Disclosed is a cytoplasmic male sterile plant of the genus Petunia having, in the mitochondrial genome thereof, a DNA molecule originated from the mitochondrial genome of a tobacco plant, or a hybrid plant with the cytoplasmic male sterile plant of the genus Petunia, or a progeny of the cytoplasmic male sterile plant of the genus Petunia or the hybrid plant. The cytoplasmic male sterile plant of the genus Petunia is a stable line in which the growth ability of young seedlings is improved and which is not susceptible to fertility restoration, and further, achieves diversification of available CMS cytoplasms.

  • Publication number: 20220322627
Abstract: A cytoplasmic male sterile Brassica rapa plant is provided having a growth ability equivalent to that of a Brassica rapa plant having a normal cytoplasm or a progeny of the cytoplasmic male sterile Brassica rapa plant. For example, it is possible to improve the deterioration of growth ability which has been observed in the conventional cytoplasmic male sterile B. rapa plants and provide a cytoplasmic male sterile Brassica rapa plant having an improved growth ability.

  • Patent number: 11427832
Abstract: The present application discloses a cabbage having resistance against downy mildew or its progeny. The present application further discloses a method for breeding downy mildew resistant cabbage, including introducing downy mildew resistance from a Brassica oleracea plant having resistance against downy mildew into desired cabbage. One embodiment of the present invention provides a novel cabbage line showing high resistance against downy mildew and having a high commercial value as cabbage, and enables breeding such cabbage.

  • Patent number: 11388864
Abstract: A method is provided of producing a Lactuca plant seed including using a Megachile bee as pollination means, and providing the a Megachile bee a minor nectar plant to have preference in flower visiting, in addition to a pollen parent Lactuca plant and a seed parent Lactuca plant and to perform a crossing of a Lactuca plant using a plant species having the preference in flower visiting equivalent to or lower than that of the Lactuca plant. According to one embodiment, it is possible to produce a Lactuca hybrid plant seed more efficiently and economically than before while using a Megachile bee as pollination means.

  • Publication number: 20220204986
Abstract: A cytoplasmic male sterile plant of the genus Lactuca is provided having low temperature growth ability comparable to that of a plant of the genus Lactuca with a normal cytoplasm, or a progeny thereof. For example, it is possible to alleviate a reduction in the growth ability at low temperature observed in previous CMS plants of the genus Lactuca and provide a CMS plant of the genus Lactuca having low temperature growth ability.
