Patent number: 9608629Abstract: In the present invention, a capacitance-type switch is provided with an operation plate and an electrode plate. The operation plate forms operation surfaces operated by the touch of a fingertip F (operation body) of a user. The electrode plate is disposed on the side of the operation plate opposite the operation surfaces. Furthermore, the capacitance-type switch is turned on and off in response to the change in capacitance caused between the fingertip F and the electrode plate. In addition, a high-permittivity material is disposed in an outer circumferential section of the electrode plate, the high-permittivity material having a higher permittivity than the operation plate. It is possible to improve the sensitivity of the capacitance-type switch while minimizing malfunctioning.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2014Date of Patent: March 28, 2017Assignee: DENSO CORPORATIONInventors: Atsushi Katoh, Yoshihide Sahashi

Patent number: 5353757Abstract: A cooling apparatus for use in a vehicle is provided in which the cooling water of the water-cooled internal combustion engine is guided into a first portion of the radiator and the cooling water of another water-cooled apparatus such as a water-cooled innercooler of a super charger is guided into a second portion of the radiator. The first radiator portion and the second radiator portion can be selectively fluidly connected so that cooling water from one radiator portion can assist cooling in the other radiator portion.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1993Date of Patent: October 11, 1994Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventors: Sumio Susa, Akihito Tanaka, Tatsuo Sugimoto, Atsushi Katoh, Kazutaka Suzuki

Patent number: 5269367Abstract: The condenser is mounted in front of radiator by means of a mounting shroud, which includes a tubular portion for covering over an outer periphery of the condenser, a pair of vertical mounting walls provided on an inner periphery of the tubular portion, and a pair of mounting leg portions formed on an outer periphery of the tubular portion. The vertical mounting walls are securely fastened to upper and lower brackets of the condenser in a condition wherein the former contact with the latter, and the lower mounting leg portions are fitted in engaging recesses of a lower tank of the radiator while the upper mounting leg portions are securely fastened to an upper tank of the radiator. The tubular portion of the mounting shroud serves also as a wind introducing duct which prevents heated air having passed the radiator from coming around to the front of the condenser again.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 1992Date of Patent: December 14, 1993Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventors: Sumio Susa, Toshio Morikawa, Atsushi Katoh, Akihiro Maeda, Tatsuo Sugimoto, Kazutaka Suzuki, Akihito Tanaka

Patent number: 5205484Abstract: A vehicle provided with an internal combustion engine and an air conditioning system for a vehicle passenger cabin. A condenser of the air conditioning system is arranged in front of a radiator of the engine in an engine compartment of the engine. A duct is arranged between the condenser and the radiator for preventing the air passing the radiator from being returned forward P. A first damper, which is normally closed is provided in the duct, but is opened when the engine temperature is high to provide a flow of air, by-passing the condenser, directly into the radiator.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 1991Date of Patent: April 27, 1993Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventors: Sumio Susa, Kazutaka Suzuki, Toshio Morikawa, Tatsuo Sugimoto, Atsushi Katoh

Patent number: 4926823Abstract: A method for controlling the air/fuel ratio of the intake air mixture supplied to an internal combustion engine having multiple cylinders and a valve operating mechanism for switching the magnitude of the intake valve openings for low and high speed operation. The method includes the step of providing a lean air/fuel ratio at low speeds and the step of gradually varying the air/fuel ratio of a range of engine speeds that include the speed at which the valve operation is switched to avoid any possible abrupt change in engine output upon switching the valve operation.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 1987Date of Patent: May 22, 1990Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Noriyuki Kishi, Atsushi Katoh, Tomohisa Saita

Patent number: 4848086Abstract: The boost pressure of a blower such as a turbocharger or a supercharger which is driven by the exhaust gas or the power output from an engine is controlled under closed-loop control when the boost pressure is in a steady state, and under open-loop control when the boost pressure is in a transient state. When the boost pressure is in the transient state, the open-loop control which may be map control is carried out for relatively good accuracy and high stability. When the boost pressure is in the steady state, the closed-loop control, i.e., highly accurate feedback control, is effected. Therefore, an improved response and stability can be achieved in boost pressure control.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 1987Date of Patent: July 18, 1989Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Kazuo Inoue, Osamu Kubota, Noriyuki Kishi, Atsushi Katoh
