  • Publication number: 20170364249
Abstract: An apparatus for performing split display is disclosed. The apparatus includes various interfaces through which a group of information processing devices can be connected to the apparatus, a user interface (UI) module that accepts a user operation, and a screen split module that splits a display area of a display into a set of display areas. The screen split module also allocates the display areas to the group of information processing devices accordingly, and displays pieces of display information that are input from the group of information processing devices via the interfaces in the respective display areas. The screen split module may set a display attribute of each of the display areas in response to the user operation that has been accepted via the UI module.

  • Publication number: 20090225463
Abstract: A method for playing a media file from a hard disc drive (HDD) within a portable personal computer without interruption is disclosed. The portable type personal computer is provided with an impact protection system for the HDD. A media player plays a media file by reading a group of data blocks constituting the media file out of the HDD in order. The media player invokes a function for reading any of the data blocks into a buffer. The function is hooked by a media driver, and the media driver writes a data block that has a larger size than the data blocks in a media cache, in response to an operation to read any of the data blocks. The media player then plays the data blocks transferred from the media cache to a buffer region.

  • Patent number: 7019659
Abstract: A network system in which an electrical apparatus having a battery which performs charges and discharges to supply electric power to the electrical apparatus and a managing server are connected by the network and perform a diagnosis of the battery provided for the electrical apparatus. The electrical apparatus accesses a Web page provided by the managing server through the network and then transmits an information file about the battery to the managing server. The managing server reads the information file to analyze the information about the battery and then transmits the analytical results to the electrical apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20050147301
Abstract: A system and method for collaborative handwriting input. An input hand-held computer captures, stores and redisplays ink information from a user and transfers the ink information to a recognition computer via a communication connection, which then recognizes it and outputs recognition result. A method is also employed in such a system for collaborative handwriting input. And in an embodiment, the system can comprise a recognition computer and a plurality of input hand-held computers.

  • Publication number: 20040059527
Abstract: To guide a user in making a suitably timed start on refreshment of a battery for supplying power to a main unit by being discharged after being charged. There are provided a CPU for executing a program for diagnosis of an intelligent battery 52, an embedded controller 41 which receives an identifier from the intelligent battery 52 and outputs the identifier to the CPU, an information file in which information on dates of refreshment in a plurality of batteries are stored, and an AC adapter power stop circuit 80 for supplying/stop supplying power from an AC adapter 51 to the main unit. The CPU obtains from the information file the date information corresponding to an identifier output from the embedded controller 41 and makes determination as to necessity to perform refreshment. The AC adapter power stop circuit 80 is controlled on the basis of a refreshment instruction from the CPU to stop supply of power from the AC adapter 51 to the system main unit.

  • Patent number: 6459235
Abstract: A charge control method by which batteries can be efficiently charged, even if the charging is aborted, as well as a computer which employs such a charge control method is provided. The charge to the main battery is started and then the charge to the, main battery is stopped when the amount of electric energy in the main battery reaches a predetermined value (steps 200 to 204). Next, the charge to the second battery is started and then the charge to the second battery is stopped when the amount of electric energy in the second battery reaches a predetermined value (steps 206 to 210). Next, the charge to the main battery is restarted and then the charge to the main battery is stopped when the amount of electric energy in the main battery reaches 100%. Thereafter, the charge to the second battery is restarted and then the charge to the battery is stopped when the amount of electric energy in the second battery reaches 100% (steps 212 to 222).
