  • Patent number: 8231321
Abstract: A paper-processing apparatus is provided with a paper-transferring section containing a transfer path for transferring a sheet of paper to a prescribed position and a transfer path to which the transfer route is switchable from the transfer path, a punch-processing section for punching two or more holes for binding in one end of the sheet of paper transferred thereto, and a control section for controlling the paper-transferring section and the punch-processing section wherein the control section controls the paper-transferring section to decelerate and stop the transfer of the sheet of paper at the prescribed position of the transfer path, to switch the transfer route for the sheet of paper from the transfer path to the transfer path, and to deliver the sheet of paper in a reverse direction thereof. The sheet of paper can be transferred to the punch-processing section with the sheet-shaped figure of the sheet of paper kept as it is, and the holes for binding can be punched at one end of the sheet of paper.

  • Patent number: 7980544
Abstract: A sheet hold flap 18 is arranged on an upper side of a vicinity of a rear end portion of a sheet table 7 to which a sheet is continuously supplied from a copier or the like. The sheet hold flap is switched to an upper initial position and a sheet holding position by a solenoid 17. There is carried out a control of holding a rear end portion of a sheet P by driving the sheet hold flap to the sheet holding position after taking in a sheet to the sheet table and returning the sheet hold flap to the initial position to escape from a sheet path in taking in a successive sheet. Sheet jamming by floating up the sheet is prevented by holding a sheet on the sheet table until immediately before taking in the successive sheet.

  • Patent number: 7896330
Abstract: A positional relation between the position of the positioning plate 22 for conducting reference-positioning on sheets of paper, which are fed onto the sheet table of the bind processing device, and the position of the division ring binder held by the binding mechanism section is set to be the same as a positional relation between the sides of the sheets of paper P and the punch holes. Forward end portions of the sheets of paper are pushed onto the sheet forward end position regulating plate 19, and the movable positioning plate 23 comes close to the reference positioning plate 22 and conducts positioning on the sheets of paper in a direction perpendicular to the sheet conveyance direction so as to arrange the positions of the sheets of paper. In this laminated state, the sheets of paper are sent to the binding mechanism section and attached with a binder.

  • Patent number: 7753354
Abstract: There is provided a sensor 48 for detecting penetration of a sheet by a punch hole aligning pin 42, and there is provided controlling means for retrying a penetrating operation by returning the punch hole aligning pin to an initial position when a time period from starting to move the pin to penetrating the sheet exceeds a reference time period. Even when a degree of unalignment of the punch hole of the sheet P is considerable and the punch hole aligning pin cannot penetrate through the sheet by once, the punch hole aligning pin is penetrated therethrough frequently by repeating the penetrating operation and therefore, an error in aligning the sheet can be reduced. In a case in which the pin is not penetrated through the sheet even when the penetrating operation is carried out by a predetermined number of times, the pin is returned to the initial position and an error is displayed.

  • Patent number: 6195521
Abstract: A developer cartridge is used with an image forming apparatus. The developer cartridge has a groove which formed in a longitudinal end surface of thereof and extends in an insertion direction of the cylinder. A strip-shaped projection formed in the image forming apparatus projects extends in the insertion direction. When the developer cartridge is fully inserted into the image forming apparatus, the groove receives the projection so that the projection is at a predetermined position relative to the developer cartridge. Two first walls define the groove which is progressively wide as the circumference is approached. A second wall rises from the longitudinal end surface of the developer cartridge and is continuous with one of the two first opposed walls. The second wall smoothly guides the projection into the groove.

  • Patent number: 6112037
Abstract: A color image forming apparatus includes a carrier belt which runs along a transport path of a recording medium to transport the recording medium. A number of image-forming sections are aligned in the transport path. Each of the plurality of image-forming sections forms a toner image of a corresponding color included in an image signal. A plurality of transfer units are provided, with each being disposed to oppose a corresponding one of the number of image-forming sections. Each of the number of transfer units transferring the toner image of the corresponding color to the recording medium. A fixing unit is provided that fixes the toner image to the recording medium. A controller is provided that detects a number of colors in the image signal. The controller sets one set of speeds from a plurality of different sets of speeds in accordance with the number of colors.

  • Patent number: 5983042
Abstract: A color image forming apparatus provides the prolonged life of the photosensitive drums, carrier belt, and toner of the respective colors and improves the quality of the printed color image. A carrier belt transports a recording medium placed thereon so that the recording medium passes through a plurality of printing mechanisms which print images of different colors on the recording medium in superposition. Each printing mechanism prints an image of a corresponding color. The printing mechanism is adapted to be moved into its operative position where the photosensitive drum of the printing mechanism is in contact with the carrier belt to print the image on the recording medium, and into its non-operative position where the photosensitive drum of the printing mechanism is not in contact with the carrier belt.
