  • Patent number: 10050071
Abstract: To obtain an imaging unit, a lens barrel, and a portable terminal which can effectively suppress spring-back of solid-state imaging elements, while facilitating height lowering thereof. An imaging unit includes: a solid-state imaging element; and an imaging lens for forming a subject image on a photoelectric conversion part of the solid-state imaging element. An imaging surface of the solid-state imaging element is curved in a manner that a peripheral side is inclined toward an object side relative to a screen center. The imaging lens constrains the solid-state imaging element to prevent a radius of curvature of the imaging surface from varying. Thus, field curvature, distortion aberration, and comatic aberration are appropriately corrected.

  • Patent number: 9910893
Abstract: An approach is disclosed for implementing failover and resume when using ordered sequences in a multi-instance database environment. The approach commences by instantiating a first database instance initially to serve as an active instance, then instantiating a second database instance to serve as an instance of one or more passive instances. The active database establishes mastership over a sequence and then processes requests for the ‘next’ symbol by accessing a shared sequence cache only after accessing a first instance semaphore. The active instance and the passive instance perform a protocol such that upon passive database detection of a failure of the active database, one of the passive database instances takes over mastership of the sequence cache, and then proceeds to satisfy sequence value requests. The particular order is observed in spite of the failure.

  • Patent number: 9667864
Abstract: An image converter partially enlarges and reduces a panorama image. The image converter inputs a panorama image, enlarges/reduces the panorama image, such that an enlargement ratio changes continuously in a continuous area of the panorama image. In the image enlargement/reduction, the panorama image is enlarged and reduced such that a width, in the longitudinal direction of the panorama image, of the panorama image after the enlargement/reduction fits into the original panorama image.

  • Patent number: 9313411
Abstract: An electronic zoom and distortion correction processing unit (104) performs electronic zooming and distortion correction of a distorted image by re-mapping the pixels of the distorted image. In accordance with a specified electronic zoom factor (S1), a re-mapping control unit (110) controls re-mapping by the electronic zoom and distortion correction processing unit (104) such that the correction factor (S4) of the distortion correction processing is changed in addition to the electronic zoom factor of the electronic zoom processing. By this means, the correction factor (S4) is changed in accordance with the specified electronic zoom factor (S1), and distorted images can be appropriately corrected while preventing denaturing of the images.

  • Publication number: 20140168375
Abstract: Provided are an image conversion device, a camera, a video system, an image conversion method and a program which are capable of performing a desired image conversion even when the orientation of multiple regions within one image is to be changed in different directions. This system is provided with: a region dividing unit (13) which divides one inputted image into multiple regions, and an image conversion unit (14) which converts the image of at least one of the regions created by the region dividing unit (13) to an image imaged from a virtual viewpoint different from the imaging viewpoint of the inputted image.

  • Publication number: 20140125761
Abstract: Provided are an image converter, a camera, an image conversion method, and a program, wherein a panorama image can be partially enlarged or reduced, while maintaining the characteristics of the panorama image that images can be joined into a cylindrical shape, or a wide range (up to 360 degrees) can be observed simultaneously. This image converter adopts a configuration wherein the image conversion apparatus includes: an image input unit that inputs a panorama image; and an image enlargement/reduction unit that enlarges/reduces the panorama image by making the enlargement ratio of the desired area within the panorama image different in a way that makes the enlargement ratio change successively at successive areas of the panorama image. In this configuration, the image enlargement/reduction unit enlarges/reduces the image such that the width, in the longitudinal direction of the panorama image, of the image after the enlargement/reduction fits into the original panorama image.

  • Publication number: 20120218413
Abstract: A camera for taking a state behind a vehicle is installed in a position laterally shifted from the rear center of the vehicle. An image processing unit generates a rear image from a camera image by shifting merely a rectangular area of the camera image so that a vertical center line thereof can substantially accord with the center line along the lengthwise direction of the vehicle. Furthermore, processing for correcting lens distortion may be performed. As a result, when the vehicle is moved straight backward, an object present on the center line of the vehicle moves vertically in substantially the center of the screen, so that a user can be prevented from having an odd feeling to see the image.

  • Patent number: 7502048
Abstract: The invention provides a vehicle surroundings monitoring system for synthesizing and displaying images captured by a plurality of cameras to provide images that, near the border between partial images, are more accurate and more readily understood by the user than has been the case conventionally. In the synthesized image, a partial image captured by a first camera and a partial image captured by a second camera are adjacent to one another at their border. Near this border, the capturing directions of the first and the second cameras both substantially match the direction of the border. Consequently, images of objects near the border extend along the border, and thus do not disappear on the synthesized image.

  • Patent number: 7423658
Abstract: An apparatus for processing an image, containing the 3D positional information of an object, realizes highly user-friendly and entertaining functions. The object image is presented on a display panel. When the user specifies a point on the panel screen, a real size of the object at the specified point is obtained in accordance with the 3D positional information. Then, a scale image substantially representing the real size obtained is generated, combined with the object image and a synthesized image is presented. The user is allowed to freely change the direction or location of the scale image.
