Patent number: 5798885Abstract: For a balance adjustment due to a reduction in size and weight of an actuator, an arm portion, an axis attaching portion, and a coil supporting portion are arranged so that the centers of gravity on the coil side are located on a straight line connecting a rotational center and the center of gravity on the head side. Further, the improvement of an assembling efficiency of a VCM, an increase in torque, a one-touch fixing of an FPC connecting band, a noise prevention of a read pattern, and an insulation between the base and cover due to a bias of an MR read head are accomplished. A sector mark is detected by comparing a peak detection pulse and its reference polarity signal. A redundancy is provided to a reference detection polarity signal so that a read signal can be detected even if any one of the read signals of the sector marks is dropped out.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 1995Date of Patent: August 25, 1998Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Masaru Saiki, Tsutomu Sasaki, Hirokazu Ishizaki, Eiji Okamura, Tatsuya Gofuku, Norihiko Suzuki, Koichi Tohkairin, Hirofumi Suzuki, Kenji Endo, Chihiro Ono, Kazuhide Ohba, Atsushi Satoh, Eisaku Takahashi, Takashi Tokairin, Isao Suda, Takahiro Ono

Patent number: 5696646Abstract: Seek operation of a seek control section is monitored by an error monitoring section, and when a seek operation does not end normally, the control is forcedly switched over to fine control by the on-track control section without reporting the error to the higher-level controller. The error monitoring section variably sets a seek timeout time Ts depending on the seek distance between the current position of the head and the target position at the start of seek, for example. When the seek timeout time Ts elapses before the target position is reached, it is judged as an error.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1995Date of Patent: December 9, 1997Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventor: Atsushi Satoh

Patent number: 5682563Abstract: A camera which imprints alphanumeric messages on the film. The camera allows a user to view, in the order of most frequently used, the messages which can be imprinted. In order to reduce the cost of the camera, there is a dot matrix LCD display which can only display a limited number of characters which is less than the total number of characters of the largest message. After a user takes a picture, the dot matrix display scrolls through the message which has been imprinted on the film so that the user can confirm that the correct message has been imprinted. The speed at which the characters are scrolled or displayed is determined based on the total number of characters of the message. As an alternative to scrolling, the characters can be displayed one or two at a time. As an alternative, instead of displaying the alpha-numerical characters of the message, a graphical indication is given that some type of information has been imprinted on the film.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1996Date of Patent: October 28, 1997Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventors: Junichi Shinohara, Yoshimi Ohno, Takashi Hongou, Hiroshi Takeda, Keiji Himuro, Tatsutoshi Kitajima, Atsushi Satoh
