    Abstract: A digital information receiver including a demodulating circuit which demodulates video information and electronic program guide information of a channel-selected digital broadcasting signal and outputs a video signal and an electronic program signal, respectively, a microcomputer which converts at least a part of the electronic program signal to an electronic program signal of a closed caption format, and a superimposing circuit which superimposes the converted electronic program signal of the closed caption format on the above-described video signal and outputs it. The digital information receiver can use electronic program guide information when the video signal is recorded and reproduced.
