  • Patent number: 5944414
Abstract: A ceiling-mounted electric component assembly is provided. A molded ceiling for fastening to a vehicle ceiling is provided with an aperture for mounting therein an electric component. Conductors extend across the electric component mounting aperture. A circuit body receiver plate is provided to cover the mounting aperture. The electric component is mounted on the circuit body receiver plate, with the conductors positioned the former and the latter such that the electric component is electrically connected to at least one of the conductors. An additional circuit body is optionally mountable on the circuit body receiver plate. The mounting of electric components on the vehicle ceiling is facilitated, and various electric components can be optionally mounted.

  • Patent number: 5873749
Abstract: An electric equipment unit is mounted to a mount opening as in an instrument panel. The unit has on top a panel-connecting means electrically connected with its internal circuit, and on opposite left and right sides at an upper portion thereof clamps and at a lower portion thereof support shaft means. The mount opening has on its upper inner surface a unit-connecting means, on opposite left and right inner surfaces at an upper portion thereof fixing holes and at a lower portion thereof shaft-receiving means. The unit is rotated and mounted to the mount opening, with its support shaft means engaged in the mount opening shaft-receiving means, so that the clamps fit in the fixing holes, while at the same time the panel-connecting means is contacted and electrically connected with the unit-connecting means.

  • Patent number: 5860288
Abstract: On a vehicle roof, there are mounted an air-conditioning unit and a molded ceiling panel having an aperture opened to a duct of the air-conditioning unit, a bezel fitted into the aperture and mounted with one or more of a switch, a lamp, and an instrument. An electrical equipment module has a connector for electrically connecting the switch, the lamp, or the instruments. A roof wiring harness has a preliminarily oriented connector secured thereto. The roof air-conditioning unit has a connector receiving portion provided in the side of the duct. The connector receiving portion can receive the preliminarily oriented connector of the roof wiring harness. The electrical equipment module can be attached to the roof air-conditioning unit through the aperture of the molded ceiling panel so that the connector of the electrical equipment module connects with the preliminarily oriented connector.

  • Patent number: 5848902
Abstract: A unit side connector (15) is provided on top of an electric equipment unit (C), which connector has a first connector body (16), and first and second guide flanges (24, 24'). A wait connector (26) is fixed at the ceiling section of an automobile body panel, which connector has a second connector body (27), a connector cover (30), an insertion guide groove (32), and support pieces (33). The unit side connector (15), after its first guide flange (24) is inserted into the insertion guide groove (32), is as a whole pushed against the connector cover (30), and then slid toward the second connector body (27) to cause the first and second connector bodies (16, 27) to be fitted and connected to each other and the second guide flanges (24, 24') to be supported on the support pieces (33). A connector device is provided which enables a connecting operation to be performed easily even at unfavorable positions such as at the ceiling section of an automobile cabin which requires an operator to look up during work.
