  • Method and device for determining the authenticity of an object

    Abstract: An authentication method is provided that is based on a reference object, such as an authentication label attached to an optical disc. The authentication label has a three-dimensional distribution of particles. For the purposes of authentication it is determined whether there is in fact a three-dimensional particle distribution. Next a two-dimensional data acquisition step is performed for the purpose of authentication. This method is particularly useful for copy protection.

  • Encryption and decryption method

    Abstract: For the purpose of data encryption a reference data vector is acquired from a reference object. The reference object can be a physical object such as a passport, a biometric feature, or a rendered data object. A set of random vectors for each bit to be encoded is determined on the basis of the reference data vector. For the purpose of decryption the reference data vector is acquired again.
