  • Patent number: 8556600
Abstract: This invention relates to a pump system, especially for boosting the flow rate of a fluid through a pipe (1, 2, 6), comprising a pump positioned in a pump chamber (10) for pumping at a chosen rate, and a motor driving said pump, the motor being positioned in a chamber (9) being provided with a pressurized fluid, the pressure of which being higher than the pressure in the pump chamber, the motor and the pump chambers being separated by a seal (8), the seal allowing a leakage of said pressurized fluid between them, wherein the pressurized fluid is acceptable to the pump environment and the system comprises a discharge branch line (3) coupled to the pipe(6) and positioned downstream from said pump, the discharge branch line having an outlet into the environment.

  • Patent number: 8267676
Abstract: An apparatus for preventing seawater from penetrating into a compressor module during lowering to or retrieval from a compression plant on the seabed, with optional discharge of residual production fluids, as for instance hydrocarbons, from the compressor module prior to retrieval, wherein the compressor module comprises an electric motor (1) and a compressor (2) which are respectively connected via at least one shaft (8) and are arranged in a common pressure shell (3), an inlet pipe (5) and an outlet pipe (6) to and from the compressor module which respectively are provided with an isolation valve (7, 7?).

  • Publication number: 20090050326
Abstract: A system for cleaning compressors (1) that are situated at a difficultly accessible location, e.g., on or near the seabed or downhole in a well bore, comprises a cleaning liquid line (8) extending between a readily accessible liquid source and the compressor. The liquid source may be a line (7) for supplying hydrate inhibitor, anti foam chemicals, barrier liquid, demulsifier or other types of chemicals to a subsea production or processing activity. Alteratively, the liquid source can be an accumulator tank (13) situated in the vicinity of the compressor.

  • Publication number: 20080260539
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the supply of barrier gas to a compressor module includes a pressure housing containing an electric motor which via a shaft is drivably connected to a compressor. The shaft is supported by magnetic bearings and at least one axial seal around the shaft which divides the pressure housing into first and second compartments including the motor and compressor, respectively. The second compartment has fluid inlet and outlet. A line is fluid-connected to the first compartment for barrier gas from a reservoir, with a flow restriction element between the reservoir and first compartment. The apparatus facilitates a method for controlling the supply of barrier gas based on gas velocity through the seal and pressure in the second compartment. An overpressure can be set in the reservoir. A controlled supply of barrier gas to at least the first compartment is effected via flow restriction in the feed pipe.
