  • Publication number: 20040040905
Abstract: The filter device contains a stack of filter rings (2), preferably consisting of plastic. Each filter ring (2) contains a number of cams (3) which are distributed evenly over the face, and diametrically opposed recesses. When the cams (3) and the recesses of adjacent filter rings (2) lie flush on top each other, a gap (7) is formed between them. The gap openings of the filter element (8), which consists of several filter rings (2) layered on top of each other, can be cleaned efficiently by means of a back-flow device comprising nozzle bodies (70). The characteristics of the filter can be altered by selecting a filter gap with different filter rings and different filter stack heights.

  • Patent number: 6402964
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (50) for sterilizing a medium preferably water. The device has a conduit of pipes (51) through which the medium that is to be purified is passed. At least one removable UV lamp producing ultraviolet radiation is fitted almost concentrically in the conduit. The conduit (51) is U-shaped and has two separate adjacent pipe sections (54). Two sleeves (53), (52) are connected to the inlet and outlet sides of each of these pipe sections, respectively. One of the sleeves (53) forms a channel from one pipe section (54) and the other sleeve (52) forms an inlet and outlet for the medium. This latter sleeve has two flange sections (62), each receiving a UV lamp (55) that extends into a separate one of the pipe sections (54). This results in a sterilizing device which is inexpensive to produce and easy to dissemble for cleaning.

  • Patent number: 4509752
Abstract: In bowling establishments, the bowling balls being returned on a ball return race must be lifted to a higher level in the vicinity of the player's position. This is effected by means of a belt drive, which is seated on a pivotable ball lift mechanism (6). If a ball (3) is not engaged by the belt (9), a feeler causes the arm (12) of the pivotable mechanism (6) to be lowered, as a result of which the ball is engaged by the belt (9) and is transported obliquely upward along the return race (2). As a result of this upward movement of the ball (3), the pivotable ball lift mechanism (6) is pivoted in the direction of the arrow A and the latch arm (22) again locks into place behind the latch (32), so that the pivotable ball lift mechanism (6) subsequently assumes its normal position. The operational reliability of the apparatus is thereby increased, because even balls (3) rolling quite closely to one another are lifted with assurance to the proper level.

  • Patent number: 4448415
Abstract: To improve the structure described in my earlier U.S. Pat. No. 3,954,264, d permit release of the hook (8) upon excessive force being applied by a cross-pin (21) on the hook if an inadvertent or carelessly thrown bowling ball applied a force (G) to the bowling pin wiper blade (35), the hook support arm (4, 5) is formed in two arm portions (4, 5) with a buckle joint (13) therebetween spring loaded to maintain a slightly out-of-line position of the support arm, but permitting buckling if a downward force on pin 21 (FIG. 1) pushes upwardly the camming roller (7) at the lower end of the lower arm portion (5) against a force in spring (32) and thus prevent damage to the suspension arm (1), the support arm (4, 5) and the other components of the mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4376534
Abstract: To permit individual retensioning and readjustment of cable length, to compensate for stretch of cables (2) attached to the heads of bowling pins (1), each cable (2) is looped about an individual associated storage drum (6), which is secured to an individual rocker plate (9), held in a first predetermined or rest position by a spring (8). The storage drum is prevented from rotation in a cable pay-out direction by a ratchet (22, 28), but can be rotated in cable pick-up direction by an externally controllable cable tensioning drive. If the cable tension applied between the head of the pin and the storage drum exceeds the force of the restoring spring (8) applied to the rocker plate, the rocker plate will pivot, thus permitting engagement of the latch (28) of the ratchet with an electromagnetically positionable engagement element (10), thus permitting rotation of the storage drum in the cable pay-out direction (D).

  • Patent number: 4356987
Abstract: For releasably attaching electrical conductors 11 or small tubes, the invion provides a U-shaped clip made of a resilient plastics material, which can be plugged into a bore 12 in a support panel 8. The electrical conductors 11, or the like, are held between the two shanks or legs 3 and the crosspiece 4 which connects the latter, and are pressed against the panel 8. In the inserted state, the grooves 6 provided on the shanks 3 engage in the edge of the bore 12. To release the clip, the two shanks 3 are pressed together by finger pressure. This makes it particularly simple to attach the conductors or tubes to the panel.

  • Patent number: 4068845
Abstract: A frame is vertically movable, the frame being arranged to carry out a full troke to pick up still standing bowling pins and a partial stroke to place pins on the surface of a bowling alley; to control the length of the stroke, and provide for soft stopping of the frame at the terminal end of its stroke, a stroke control and limit lever is selectively positionable in interfering relation with respect to the downward movement of the frame. The interference position of the control and limit lever is externally controllable, for example by a electromagnet or solenoid, the lever being further connected to a hydraulic dashpot. When in interfering position, the frame, upon its downward stroke, impinges on the control and limit lever which can deflect, the dashpot gradually braking the downward movement until the deflection limit of the limit lever is reached, for example at the end position of the dashpot.

  • Patent number: 3988023
Abstract: To permit installation of a bowling ball return chute between a pair of ays, and prevent interference of bowling balls admitted from either adjacent alley to the chute, the alleys are formed with openings which are blocked by doors, the doors each including an interlock mechanism mutually engageable with the interlock mechanism of the other so that, upon opening of one door due to pressure of a ball thereagainst, the other door is locked and admission of a ball from the other alley is prevented. The ball is then moved on a rocker which deflects due to the weight of the ball, the deflecting movement being re-transmitted to the previously opened door to close the door, so that a ball from the other alley can then be admitted, the doors being easily opened by impingement of the balls thereagainst.

  • Patent number: 3966206
Abstract: A support which can tip to release a bowling pin therefrom and which may be part of a transport mechanism, holds bowling pins in essentially horizontal position. A pair of sensing levers is arranged near the discharge position of the pins from the support, the sensing levers being horizontally spaced so that one lever will engage the neck or head portion of the pin, whereas the other lever will engage the bulged body portion thereof. The levers are interlocked in such a manner that the specific respective lever which senses presence of the head or neck portion therebeneath will remain in locked position during release movement of the support, whereas the other lever is free to release the pin, so that the pin will be restrained at the head or neck portion, regardless of its horizontal alignment, and always be tipped away from the support with the body portion first.
