For instance, it would be helpful to have an ability to view physical, virtual, and/or wireless connectivity within a common interface. Further, tools may be provided to permit the user to more easily navigate a representation of the network and its entities, and to perform management control actions, monitoring, and other functions.

Abstract: Creating a reference to data used to construct a computer-aided design model includes storing model data with tracking data, where the tracking data identifies the model data. A reference is created and the tracking data is associated with the reference to enable the reference to refer to the model data. A modeling operation is executed, which retrieves the tracking data associated with the reference, traverses a data structure defining the computer-aided design model while attempting to match the tracking data associated with the reference to the tracking data stored with the model data, and returns geometric data stored in the model data.

Abstract: Maintaining a relationship between a model of an object and data relevant to the model includes storing data representing the model (i.e., the data utilized to construct the model for display by a computerized system), storing user-interface codes for enabling the retrieval of data relevant to the model, forming an association between the model and the user-interface codes, displaying a user interface in accordance with the user-interface codes (the user interface allowing for selection of the data relevant to the model), and initiating the retrieval of the data relevant to the model by analyzing a link associated with the plurality of user-interface codes to determine the location of the data relevant to the model.
