  • Publication number: 20100206914
Abstract: There are provided a system and a method for implementing a normally-closed but openable closure device (20) for a fluid-retaining container (10) having a container orifice (11). The closure device prevents unintentional spilling of substance out of an opening, which is disposed in fluid communication with the orifice, by urging a lid (32) to seal the opening closed. For retrieval of substance out of the container, a member of a flow control implement, such as pertaining to a faucet (60) for example, is introduced into the closure device. The introduction of the implement forces the lid open, and allows retrieval of substance out of the container.

  • Publication number: 20040049460
Abstract: A smart electronic authorization/credit card called a Smart Key Card (SKC) and a method for its operation are provided. The SKC includes a keypad for entering data, a magnetic strip or a Smart Card Chip which stores confidential information, a battery, NVM memory that stores program code and data, a CPU and a Smart Key Card hybrid chip. The SKC is activated by the authorized user for a predetermined time period. The method for operating the SKC includes entering a secret code through the keypad on the SKC, comparing the entered secret code to a true code stored in the SKC, and activating the SKC for a predetermined time period, when the entered secret code and the true code are the same. The data stored in the SKC can be modified by a user using the keypad and a display on the SKC.
