  • Patent number: 7385106
Abstract: A method of generating a plant tolerant of environmental stress conditions, the method comprising the step of expressing within the plant exogenous polynucleotides encoding enzymes capable of catalyzing proline production, wherein the exogenous polynucleotides are expressed in a manner so as to allow accumulation of the enzymes within a subcellular organelle of the plant. The invention further describes novel polynucleotides and nucleic acid constructs useful in implementing the methods and a transgenic plant resultant therefrom.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 10, 2001
Date of Patent: June 10, 2008
Assignee: Ramot At Tel Aviv University Ltd.
Inventors: Hanan Stein, Aviah Zilberstein, Gadi Miller, Yoram Kapulnik
  • Publication number: 20040078842
Abstract: The present invention provides an enzymatic composition comprising at least one protein isolated from a tissue or soup of a carnivorous plant, the at least one protein being characterized with an endo-chitinase activity.

  • Patent number: 6043415
Abstract: The present invention relateds to a synthetic version of a gene isolated from Bacillus thuringiensis encoding an insectidical crystal protein designated CryIC, plants transformed with the gene, and the insecticidal crystal protein toxin expressed by the gene, all of which are used to control insects of the Spodoptera species as well as those of the Mamestra species.
