  • Publication number: 20190126568
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method of producing a charge air hose or pipe from plastic. It is an object of the disclosure to provide a method of producing charge air hoses, via which charge air hoses are producible from continuous fiber-reinforced plastics with uniform wall thickness and an inner outline of high precision. This method gives rise to a charge air pipe having a reinforced thermoplastic matrix as wall. Advantages of a thermoplastic matrix are a high degree of awareness for processing purposes and the option of bonding additional connecting and functional elements, for example holders, made of thermoplastic to the component via methods including welding methods.

  • Publication number: 20190126567
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method of making a charge air hose or pipe from plastic. It is an object to provide a method of making charge air hoses, by which charge air hoses are producible from continuous fiber-reinforced plastics with uniform wall thickness and an inner outline of high precision. Such a method can include the following steps: A) braiding a hose outline on a core using continuous fibers, B) laying the fiber braid together with the core into a cavity of an injection mold, C) injecting a low-viscosity free-flowing hardenable resin to impregnate the braided hose outline with the resin, D) hardening the impregnated component, and E) removing the component from the mold and removing the core.

  • Patent number: 9902104
Abstract: A method for making a substantially tube-shaped conduit resonator having a plurality of plastic component parts, the conduit resonator having a tubular hollow body and at least one tubular molded part arranged inside the tubular hollow body and connected to the tubular hollow body, the method comprising the steps of: making a molded part via an injection molding process in an outer tool having an inner mandrel; injecting the hollow body between the molded part and a surrounding outer tool wherein the molded part along with the inner mandrel serve as an inner tool; and, thereafter, via a blow molding process, seating the hollow body on the inner wall of the outer tool and reshaping the hollow body on the outer wall of the molded part and bonding the hollow body, in part, to the outer wall of the molded part.

  • Patent number: 9010485
Abstract: A fluid line includes a resonator having an inner part and a blow-molded outer part defining an inner surface. The inner and outer parts are fixedly connected. The inner part is an injection-molded part having first and second radial collars spaced axially apart from each other. The inner part defines a radial circumference with a plurality of orifices formed therein. The inner and outer parts are axially one within the other so that there is no throughflow of secondary air between the first and second radial collars and the inner surface of the outer part. The inner and outer parts have a common end whereat they are airtightly connected to each other. The inner part, the radial collars and the inner surface of the outer part conjointly define two resonant chambers operatively connected to fluid in the fluid line via the orifices.
