  • Patent number: 7854234
Abstract: A method of setting up, caring for and later removing a temporary rasta hairstyle is described. This method includes one or more of the following steps: applying a roughness-increasing substance to the hair to roughen the hair, applying an adherence-increasing substance to the hair to increase adherence of hairs to each other, and subsequently setting up the temporary rasta hairstyle by intertwining hair strandwise. The cleaning of the temporary rasta hairstyle occurs preferably using a concave sponge, without disturbing the temporary rasta hairstyle. To again remove the temporary rasta hairstyle a composition that increases the combability is applied to the hair and the rasta strands are opened and unwound or untwisted. Multi-component kits and compositions for performing the method are also described.

  • Publication number: 20080311050
Abstract: A method for achieving a retrievable hair restyling is described. Here a composition is applied to the hair, said composition containing at least one first active ingredient or active ingredient complex which can provide a shape memory effect by itself or in combination with other substances after being applied to the hair and after the performance of the treatment of the hair according to the invention. The composition additionally contains at least one second active ingredient, namely a hydrophobic substance with a water solubility of ?5 percent by weight at 20° C. The hair is arranged into a given (permanent) shape and said permanent shape is then fixed by inducing a chemical or physical modification of the applied active ingredients, wherein after a wanted or unwanted deformation of the shape memory, the original shape memory can be restored by means of a physical stimulation. In addition to the permanent hairstyle, a second (temporary) shape can be impressed.

  • Patent number: 7037488
Abstract: A hair wax product is made by a process, in which a solid wax composition is heated to melt or soften it and then foamed with a gas in a mixer that applies shear energy to it. The gas is preferably air or a non-reactive gas, such as nitrogen. The gas is introduced to the liquified or softened solid wax composition in a sufficient amount so that the density of the resulting hair wax product is less than or equal to 0.9 g/ml, preferably 0.6 to 0.8 g/ml. The hair wax product contains bubbles and/or pores having a size of from 0.0001 to 5 mm and has melting and softening properties such that rubbing it by hand is sufficient to remove a waxy portion from it and work the waxy portion into hair.

  • Publication number: 20060088494
Abstract: A method for the provision of a recallable hair transformation using shape-memory polymers is disclosed. In this respect a composition which comprises a macromer or prepolymer which is cross-linkable to a shape-memory polymer is applied onto the hair and the hair is brought into a defined (permanent) shape and subsequently the permanent shape is fixed by means of the chemical cross-linking of the macromer or prepolymer under formation of the shape-memory polymer. The macromer or prepolymer contains segments which are cross-linkable by means of chemical bonds as well as thermoplastic segments which are not chemically cross-linkable. The shape-memory polymers do possess at least one transition temperature TTrans. In addition to the permanent shape of a hairdo a second (temporary) shape can be impressed.
