    Abstract: An elastic vehicle tire with a cavity (11) enclosed by a tread strip (2) supporting the tread (3) and sidewalls (4, 4.1) adjacent to this on both sides shows a foam insert (9) connected to the inside (10) of the tread strip (2). The side walls each carry a bead (5, 5.1) disposed at the free end to fit around the flange (8, 8.1) of the rim (6) of wheel (7). The foam insert (9) partly fills the cavity (11) and serves a dampening function, in particular in a frequency range below 400 Hz.

  • Arrangement and process for securing a threaded insert to an oil pan

    Abstract: An oil pan for an internal combustion engine has a metallic gastight and fluidtight threaded insert for receiving an oil drain plug, the insert having a cylindrical section which rests in an opening of a wall of the oil pan. The cylindrical section of the threaded insert, on an exterior side of the oil pan, is provided with a collar which, by means of a sealing adhesive arrangement, is fastened to the exterior wall section of the oil pan.

  • Oil pan for an internal combustion engine

    Abstract: An oil pan, which is made of plastic, has a baffle pot insert on a bottom thereof which is formed by a one piece pot-shaped plastic component. This baffle pot insert extends from the exterior side of the bottom into the oil pan. Further, a collar of the baffle pot insert rests against a bottom section of the oil pan. Screws, which penetrate the collar and are turned into threaded metal inserts of the oil pan, are used for fastening the baffle pot insert to the oil pan.

  • Temperature resistant tire pressure control device

    Abstract: An apparatus for the heat-insulated placement of an electronic emitter that is a component of a tire pressure control device for a motor vehicle. The emitter is attached to the axle of the motor vehicle by a housing which contains an insulating material to form a heat shield to protect the emitter. The presence of the heat shield allows the emitter to be located in close proximity to the caliper of a disc brake system of the motor vehicle, a location which would otherwise be unavailable due to high ambient temperatures.
