In a first mode, the process based on the instruction from the instruction unit is executed and in a second mode, the process based on the instruction from the instruction unit and the process based on the instruction received by the reception unit are executed. After the second mode is cancelled and the first mode is established, the setting unit sets a predetermined type of process as the type of process to be executed when the instruction unit has made an instruction.

The display control apparatus determines, when the predetermined number of images are set as new display-target images according to the predetermined order, the order of displaying the predetermined number of images so that each of the predetermined number of images is arranged in order of arrangement according to the predetermined order to sequentially display the images according to a display order different from the predetermined order. This enables a user to quickly determine whether a desired image is included in the images displayed on the display screen.
