  • Patent number: 10849617
Abstract: A piercing forceps includes a dynamic handle and an L-shaped static handle connected to the dynamic handle. The static handle supports a primary slide with a clamping end and a secondary slide supporting needles. The dynamic handle may be operated to bring a distal end of the primary slide toward a distal end of the static handle to provide a tissue clamp. A trigger supported by the static handle may be operated to bring a distal end of the secondary slide toward the distal end of the static handle and primary slide, thus resulting in the needles of the secondary slide distally extending from the secondary slide to pierce tissue clamped between the static handle and primary slide. As a result, the tissue can be secured by being clamped between the static handle and primary slide, as well as by the needles of the secondary slide being inserted therethrough.

  • Patent number: 9895146
Abstract: The wound closure device includes an outer tubular housing, an inner shaft that extends through the housing, a needle control assembly at least partially disposed with the housing, a pair of hollow needles in communication with the needle control assembly, sutures in the housing, and a suture deployment assembly connected to a distal end of each suture and to the inner shaft. The needles can be inserted into a tissue to deposit the sutures and suture anchors at or near wound edges. The needles can thereafter be completely withdrawn from the tissue.

  • Patent number: 9517185
Abstract: The feeding tube system includes an elongated shaft having a proximal portion, an opposing distal portion, and a central opening or lumen extending therethrough. The proximal portion is configured to remain outside a patient's body cavity and includes a first opening through which fluids can be introduced into the lumen. The distal portion is configured for disposing within a patient's body cavity and includes a second opening for discharging fluids from the lumen into the patient's body cavity. An interior retention balloon is provided at the distal portion of the elongated shaft. An external base positioned at the proximal portion of the feeding tube can include at least one exterior base balloon extending therefrom. The interior retention balloon and the at least one exterior base balloon are inflatable.
