Patent number: 10834450Abstract: Digital content is indexed and available to be provided to a target audience based upon possible interest. Components and/or sensors detect audience-related data indicative of the target audience, possible audience interest, audience behavior, and other audience-related factors. Components and/or sensors detect device-related data indicative of available devices to which available content may be sent, transmission paths for the content, and related factors. An analysis and matching engine matches the available content to the target audience and one or more of the devices and selects content, devices, and transmission paths for directing the selected content for an enhanced audience experience.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2014Date of Patent: November 10, 2020Assignee: NBCUniversal Media, LLCInventors: Azfar Inayatullah, Sanjay Macwan, Sowmya Gottipati

Patent number: 10779039Abstract: In one embodiment, a method is provided. The method includes using a processor to receive pre-defined rules related to one or more desired characteristics of available digital content. The pre-defined rules indicate user preferences for receiving the available digital content with a personal computing device. The method further includes using a processor to determine current operating conditions corresponding to the pre-defined rules and to identify the one or more desired characteristics of available digital content based on the pre-defined rules and the current operating conditions. The method also includes using a processor to identify a data channel from one or more data channels. The identified data channel is configured to receive the available digital content from a content delivery system based on the pre-defined rules and the current operating conditions.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2015Date of Patent: September 15, 2020Assignee: NBCUniversal Media, LLC.Inventors: Azfar Inayatullah, Sanjay Macwan

Patent number: 10327190Abstract: Providing for mobile communications incorporating Internet Protocol (IP) persistence is described herein. By way of example, IP persistence can be implemented for a mobile device receiving IP data content over a mobile network. Particularly, if the mobile device encounters a region of poor wireless coverage, the IP data content can be transmitted to the mobile device over a plurality of base stations concurrently. Thus, the IP persistence can comprise duplicating the IP data content and transmitting separate independent wireless transmissions of the content to the mobile device from separate cells or separate transmitters. The duplicate transmitting can be continued while the mobile device is within the region of poor wireless coverage, until a suitable quality of service or quality of experience parameter is met for a serving network, or the like.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2015Date of Patent: June 18, 2019Assignee: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Sanjay Macwan, Azfar Inayatullah

Patent number: 6868129Abstract: A demodulator (20) extracts a digital sub-carrier signal from a modulated signal and provides the sub-carrier signal in clock and data format. Demodulation occurs with two mixing stages (32, 40, 42) and at sampling frequencies that are independent from the frequency of transmission of the modulated signal. Matched filters (44, 46) try to match the received sub-carrier signal with a predefined bi-phase pulse shape. Phase correction is applied at a low sampling frequency. After phase correction, digital interpolation is used to re-sample the sub-carrier signal.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2001Date of Patent: March 15, 2005Assignee: Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.Inventors: Junsong Li, Azfar Inayatullah, Yui-Luen Ho

Patent number: 6751264Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate generally to receivers. One embodiment relates to a digital FM receiver having multiple sensors (e.g. antennas). In one embodiment, the digital receiver includes a baseband unit having a channel processing unit. In one embodiment, the channel processing unit is capable of calculating or estimating a phase difference between the incoming signals prior to combining them. One embodiment uses phase estimation method for diversity combining the signals while another embodiment utlizes a hybrid phase lock loop method. Also, some embodiments of the present invention provide for echo-cancelling after diversity combining. An alternate embodiment of the channel processing unit utilizes a space-time unit to diversity combine and provide echo cancelling for the incoming signals.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2001Date of Patent: June 15, 2004Assignee: Motorola, Inc.Inventors: Yui-Luen Ho, Junsong Li, Azfar Inayatullah

Patent number: 6717533Abstract: A vehicular audio system receives audio inputs from audio sources and a radio receiver. Analog audio is converted to digital, and digital audio remains natural digital. The receiver front end converts a radio signal to an intermediate frequency then an ADC converts that to a digital signal. The inputs that are converted to digital are selectively mixed with each other and with the natural digital signals. This allows for sounds from multiple sources to be heard simultaneously so that a telephone ring may be provided without requiring background music to be interrupted and for uses such as voice by microphone over a music tape. A reference frequency to the receiver front end of 7.2 MHz is particularly beneficial for noise reduction and consequent mixing of digital audio at 48 KHz, the standard frequency for typical digital audio inputs.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2001Date of Patent: April 6, 2004Assignee: Motorola, Inc.Inventors: Charles Eric Seaberg, Gregory J. Buchwald, Azfar Inayatullah
