  • Publication number: 20160160004
Abstract: A thermoformable polyester roll stock can include polyester, talc, and an ethylene acrylate. The talc can be provided in an amount of about 10 wt % to about 20 wt % based on the weight of the film and the ethylene acrylate can be provided in an amount up to about 6 wt % based on the weight of the film. Laminates can be formed using the such polyester roll stocks.

  • Patent number: 7111078
Abstract: A method and system allow anonymous observation of premium content. A purchaser (user) of premium content connects and logs in to the server system via the Internet or other electronic medium. The server presents the user with a number of options for viewing or otherwise observing premium content (i.e. HTML Document, Video or Audio Stream, etc.) from a variety of providers. Through these options the user submits a request for an item of content to the server. The server then retrieves the content from the content provider's system or from a local cached version. If the content contains links (i.e. HTML Links) to other items of content at the provider, the server changes these links into links that request the same content from the server. The content is then delivered to the user's observation device (i.e. Web Browser, Telephone, etc.).

  • Publication number: 20050275918
Abstract: A method for refining a length of a scan line, where the scan line is produced from a facet of a scanning device. The method comprises the steps of: (a) acquiring a plurality of scan line lengths produced from the facet, (b) determining from the plurality of scan line lengths, an average scan line length for the facet, and (c) determining from the average scan line length, a scan line length correction for the facet. A method for measuring a length of a scan line comprises the steps of: (a) charging an electrical current integrator to a voltage while a scan line is produced from a facet, (b) measuring the voltage, and (c) determining from the voltage, the length of the scan line produced from the facet.

  • Publication number: 20050030367
Abstract: Scanning assemblies, printing devices, and related methods are described. In one embodiment, pole pieces are configured to be coupled with an input voltage source that can produce phase-shifted input voltages, the pole pieces defining at least first and second phases. A rotor is operably associated with the pole pieces for rotation. The pole pieces and the rotor are configured as an induction drive system in which a rotational force for rotating the rotor is produced through interaction of rotor-induced eddy currents from each of the first and second phases with respective magnetic fluxes of the other of the first and second phases.

  • Patent number: 6401094
Abstract: A user accessing a Web site can select the format in which information is presented. The information, instead of being stored in a static HTML document, is dynamically formatted for each user in accordance with that user's personality traits. The information to be displayed is stored in a database server. Client computers running Web browsers do not access that database server directly. Instead, they access it through an application server running server software for dynamic Web pages and also software which implements the business models needed to format the information for each user's personality traits. Those business models and the identity of the browser which each client user is running are used to format the information in from the database server as required. When the user accesses the home page on the application server, the user is presented with a list of links corresponding to personality traits so that the user can view the information as desired.

  • Patent number: 5584627
Abstract: A load indicating fastener composed of a body (2) having an abutment (9) which is moved by the changing length of the body (2) under an applied load, and a load sensing member (10) composed of an element (11) disposed in the direction in which a load is applied to the body (2) when the fastener is in the user characterized in that the element (11) is of elongated U-shape, a first limb (13) of the U providing an anchorage part (14) which is rigidly anchored to the body (2), the closed end of the U providing a bearing part (15) which bears on the abutment (9) so as to move with the abutment relative to the anchorage part (14) in response to a load applied to the body, and a second limb (16) of the U having an indicator (17) at its outer end which responds movement of the bearing part (15) and registers the applied load related to that movement on a scale (19).

  • Patent number: 4909685
Abstract: Attainment of a predetermined stress in a bolt (10) which is being tightened is indicated by interference with the freedom of a pin (15) to rotate relative to the bolt. The pin extends along a bore (14) from an end of the bolt and the bore lies in that part of the bolt which presents the minimum diameter of the bolt. The invention is especially useful for detecting when the stress to which the bolt is subjected exceeds the elastic limit of the bolt, because the radial contraction of the bore which then occurs is large, relative to the contraction which occurs during elastic deformation of the bolt.

  • Patent number: 4525114
Abstract: An elongate pin extends in an axial bore in a threaded fastener, at least one end portion of the pin protruding from the bore. An abutment is provided on said one end portion, while when the fastener is in an unstressed condition may rotate about the longitudinal axis thereof. Conversely, when the fastener is subjected to a predetermined tension, rotation of the abutment is prevented by engagement with an end face of the fastener.

  • Patent number: 4236871
Abstract: A fan impeller comprises a back plate, a front plate and a plurality of blades fixedly attached between the front plate and the back plate. Two bars are welded to the back of each blade and are bolted to the front and back plates. Each blade is a channel section member having a base and two sides, the base being normal to the planes of the front and back plates of the impeller, one side lying along the front plate and the other side lying along the back plate. The sides extend from the base in the direction of rotation of the impeller in use so that the inside of each channel section is presented to the airstream as the impeller rotates. The inside working surface of each blade may be hardened to a minimum hardness of Rockwell C55.

  • Patent number: 4160302
Abstract: A vacuum operated refuse collecting vehicle includes an air-tight container mounted on the chassis of the vehicle and having an outlet communicating with means for generating a vacuum within the container. A suction conduit is provided for each side of the vehicle, each suction conduit extending at one end into the interior of the container and being provided at the other end with a nozzle which may be disposed at a short distance from the ground. Brrush means are provided. Means are mouned at said one end of each conduit which are operable from outside the container, for separately closing off said one end of each suction conduit to prevent refuse entering said one end of the conduit when it is closed. Said one ends of said suction conduits communicate with the container in positions one on each side of a central longitudinal plane of the container and adjacent one end of the container.
