  • Patent number: 6612656
Abstract: A wheel mounting apparatus includes a wheel hub flange having a wheel mounting portion to be connected to a wheel, and having a hub mounting portion to be connected to a wheel hub. Alternatively, the wheel mounting portion and the wheel hub can be formed as an integral unit, and the hub mounting portion can be eliminated. Ventilation passages are provided between the wheel mounting portion of the wheel hub flange and the hub mounting portion or the wheel hub. Thus, good ventilation and cooling of the brake assembly, which is provided between the wheel rim and the wheel hub, can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 6564912
Abstract: A brake disk for disk brakes, in particular of land vehicles, has a friction ring received by a support section, formed, for example, by a portion of a wheel hub. The support section has an out-of-round outer formation on which the friction ring is seated torsionally tight with a centric opening of complementary inner out-of-round formation. The friction ring, and preferably also the support section, is comprised of cast metal and the friction ring is cast onto the prefabricated support section to form a cast connection between the friction ring and the support section. The cast connection between the friction ring and the support section is such that upon an initial heating of the brake disk the cast connection becomes ruptured and the friction ring becomes separated from the support section.

  • Patent number: 5060916
Abstract: A plunger piston system used, for example, to support and guide a pneumatic spring bellows of an air suspension axle of a commercial vehicle or the like, includes a plunger piston that has a cylindrical plunger piston skirt with a bottom foot region for connection with an air spring bearing arm and an upper plunger piston edge that adjoins the plunger piston edge that adjoins the plunger piston skirt. A trough section which extends radially inward from the edge has a trough base with an opening for the passage of a bolt for a force-fit connection with a base of the air spring bellows. The trough section defines a trough to accommodate a convex base of the air spring bellows. A supporting body fits in an inner space of the plunger piston is surrounded by the skirt thereof. A lower foot area of the supporting body rests on the lower foot area of the plunger piston. The plunger piston and the supporting body may be of plastic.

  • Patent number: 4932725
Abstract: A mounting device for a wheel cap or a magnet wheel for sensing anti-skid systems on a wheel hub of a vehicle, creates a secure seat and greater ease of mountability and dismountability on the wheel hub by having on its outer end section a circumferential groove to receive a packing ring. The end section of the wheel cap or of the magnet wheel on the side of the wheel hub has a circumferential groove facing the circumferential groove of the wheel hub, with which groove the end section of the wheel cap or of the magnet wheel snaps by means of axially pushing over the packing ring in the circumferential groove of the wheel hub.

  • Patent number: 4890939
Abstract: A device for mounting a cam shaft for actuating the brake shoes of a drum brake for vehicles and the like, in which the cam shaft is mounted in a bearing eye of the brake bracket via a bearing section by a bushing, includes a tigthening disk and a guard ring for restraining axial movement of the cam shaft. There is a bearing section in the brake bracket for rotatably supporting the cam shaft on a section adjacent to the S-shaped cam. And, to avoid too much grease on the brakes and to increase the low maintenance or allow for no maintenance of the device, the bearing eye has an extension on the other side of the cam away from the cam and beyond the bearing section to define a grease chamber enclosing the cam shaft.

  • Patent number: 4890823
Abstract: The invention relates to a plunger piston system made preferably of glass fiber-reinforced plastic or similar composite material to support and guide the pneumatic spring bellows of an air suspension axle of a commercial vehicle or the like, with a plunger piston, which has an essentially cylindrical plunger piston skirt with a bottom foot region for the connection with an air spring bearing arm and an upper, preferably essentially semi-circular plunger piston edge, which adjoins the plunger piston skirt and which transforms preferably at an angle from the outside inwardly into a trough section that is equipped with a preferably, in any event region by region, essentially level trough base, having an opening for the passage of a bolt for a friction lock connection with a base of the air spring bellows, and that preferably forms a truncated conical trough for preferably form-locked reception of the convex base of the air spring bellow, whereby to simplify the production and yet improve the stability a supporti
