  • Patent number: 11558918
Abstract: An access node of the cellular network determines a correlation of an identifier of a user equipment with an entry of a Pending Interest Table maintained by an Information Centric Networking node. The Pending Interest Table comprises an entry for each data object having a pending Information Centric Networking request at the Information Centric Networking node. Based on the correlation, the access node controls a connection of the user equipment with the cellular network. This may involve deciding whether to release the user equipment to idle mode or paging of the user equipment.

  • Patent number: 10932151
Abstract: The invention relates to methods, a wireless communication device and a network node for enabling establishment of at least one Packet Data Network (PDN) connection between a wireless communication device and a communication network. In a first aspect of the invention, a method performed by a wireless communication device of enabling establishment of at least one Packet Data Network (PDN) connection—with a communication network is provided. The method comprises submitting, to a node of the communication network, a request to establish the PDN connection, the request being configured to comprise an indication that the request pertains to establishing a PDN connection for transporting Information Centric Networking (ICN) data.

  • Patent number: 10708828
Abstract: An access node (20) of a cellular network receives an information centric networking request of a user equipment (10) for a data object. The access node forwards the information centric networking request to a local gateway (30) associated with the access node (20). The local gateway (30) maintains a pending interest table including an entry for each data object having a pending information centric networking request at the local gateway (30). In response to the user equipment (10) moving from a coverage area of the access node (20) to a coverage area of a further access node (21), the access node (20) and the further access node (21) perform a handover procedure. The further access node (21) is associated with a further local gateway (31) maintaining a further pending interest table. The further pending interest table includes an entry for each data object having a pending information centric networking request at the further local gateway (31).

  • Patent number: 10469491
Abstract: A node (17, 21) in an information centric network (ICN) receives a first identifier associated with an information object. The node (17, 21) causes creation of a virtual node (18) in the ICN, for holding a mapping between a second identifier and the first identifier. The second identifier is assigned to a copy of the information object stored in the ICN. The node (17, 21) causes creation of the virtual node (18) such that the mapping is arranged to cease after a predetermined event. The virtual node (18) is created with the sole purpose of providing copies of the information object to a small number of requestors (14), and possibly to just one requestor (14). Ceasing the mapping after delivery of the one copy, or the few copies, of the information object prevents unauthorized retrieval of the information object.

  • Patent number: 10298712
Abstract: A client node, a proxy node, and methods therein, as well as a protocol and a computer program for enabling interception of request messages in connection-less protocols. A primary request addressed to a server node is intercepted by a proxy node creating a secondary request based on said request and forwards this secondary request towards the server node. The proxy node receives a secondary response, being a response to the secondary request, creates a primary response based on the secondary response and forwards this primary response to the node from which the primary request was received. A response can thus be sent along the same path as a corresponding request was sent.

  • Publication number: 20160164952
Abstract: A networking approach that maintains the benefits of ICN, but that can also be used to implement N-way commit protocols. In one aspect, a method performed by a routing apparatus is provided. In some embodiments, the method includes the routing apparatus receiving a request message transmitted by a requesting apparatus, the request message comprising a first content name. The routing apparatus forwards the first request message towards a publishing apparatus. After forwarding the first request message, the routing apparatus receives, via a network interface, a first response message transmitted by the publishing apparatus, the first response message comprising the first content name and a second content name. The routing apparatus forwards the first response message towards a requesting apparatus and links the second content name with a network interface identifier for identifying the interface via which the routing apparatus received the first response message.

  • Patent number: 9264355
Abstract: A set of globally-reachable attachment registers is provided for interconnected communications networks and hosts. At least some of the networks and hosts each has a corresponding attachment register. The attachment registers are not located with their respective network or host. Information is stored in the attachment registers that establishes one or more logical links between the attachment registers. The information in certain ones of the attachment registers is used to perform one or more network communication functions. Non-limiting example functions include location registration and update, name to global locator resolution, routing, multi-homing, dynamic ISP selection, and handover.

  • Patent number: 9154429
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and arrangements for updating the mapping of traffic in the form of a set of service level aggregate flows (SLS1, SLSM) to a set of partial resources (B1, BN) for forwarding the traffic in a communications network (21). Each service level aggregate flow corresponds to a service level associated with a set of service requirements. Information regarding traffic characteristics of each service level aggregate flow and performance of the set of network resources are obtained. Based on this information, the mapping of the set of service level aggregate flows to the set of network resources is updated to achieve a more efficient utilization of the set of network resources, while fulfilling the set of service requirements.

  • Patent number: 6282202
Abstract: In traffic processes in a telecommunication system there is internal communication between service controlling entities which may belong to logical nodes in the same or different applications. Such a service controlling entity may be a service process controlling a service for a party of a call. The communication between the service controlling entities is controlled by rules given in a generic protocol. These rules imply lack of messages and use only of protocol parameters in the form of indivisible information transmission elements. Based upon the generic protocol, service protocols are specified, each corresponding to its service, and a protocol managing entity within an application handling the protocol management of a certain service according to the service protocol. The information elements are distributed by a communication service having a parameter distribution function for the protocol parameters, by transferring data between the protocol managing entities.
