  • Patent number: 9480068
Abstract: A method for scheduling enhanced uplink traffic in a cell in a cellular communication system comprises estimating of a rise-over-thermal measure for the cell. A momentary total load in the cell is computed based on the estimated rise-over-thermal measure. A load headroom is determined from at least a maximum allowed load and the momentary load. Future enhanced uplink traffic is scheduled in dependence of the determined load headroom. A degree of underutilization of enhanced uplink traffic grants in the cell is established. The scheduling comprises overbooking of enhanced uplink traffic in dependence on the established underutilization degree. A network node comprises corresponding functionalities.

  • Publication number: 20160037407
Abstract: A method in a radio network node (140) for handling hand over of a user equipment (150) to a target cell. The target cells hares a physical cell identity(PCI) with at least a second cell in a cellular communications network. When the target cells hares the PCI with the at least second cell, the radio network node (140) sends (204) a message to the respective at least two cells requesting to set up a radio link to the user equipment(150) and comprising an indication to measure a characteristic of an up link synchronization and comprising an indication to send a report comprising a result of the indicated measurement to the radio network node (140). The radio network node (140) receives from the at least two cells a respective report, which respective report comprises a result of the indicated up ink measurement. The radio network node (140) selects (209) the target cell for hand over of the user equipment (150), based on the result in the report. Publ.

  • Patent number: 9161388
Abstract: The present invention relates to a radio base station (RBS) (1). The RBS comprises a first radio unit (RU) (2) and a second RU (3). The RBS is configured such that said first and second RUs will use the same scrambling or cell identity code for communication with a wireless communication terminal (9) such that the wireless communication terminal will regard the first and second RUs as relating to the same cell of the RBS. The invention also relates to a communication system (13) comprising the RBS, as well as to a use of the RBS for performing an internal handover, after UL measurements, of the communication terminal from the first RU to the second RU, and a method of arranging the RBS.

  • Patent number: 8699507
Abstract: The invention relates to a scheduling of data transmissions in multi-carrier data transmission systems, e.g. multi-carrier W-CDMA systems. A method embodiment of performing one or more data transmissions in a multi-carrier data transmission network (100) comprises, in a transmitting device (102), the steps of requesting transmission resources from a resource granting device (106); receiving, in response to the request (120), one or more transmission grants (gr1-gr3) from the resource granting device (106), wherein each transmission grant (gr1) indicates a data rate (dr1) and a data class (CI1) granted for a specific transmission carrier (Cr1); and initiating one or more transmissions (122-126) of data associated with one or more of the granted data classes on one or more of the granted transmission carriers.

  • Patent number: 8547919
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for allocating communication bandwidth between a first terminal of a plurality of terminals and a network device. Wireless communication between the first plurality of terminals and the network device is carried out using a plurality of carrier channels. The communication defines a first bandwidth. The method comprises the steps of receiving the request for change of bandwidth from the first terminal, evaluating current load on carrier channels in use by the first terminal, evaluating priority between all terminals using the carrier channels currently in use by the first terminal, evaluating capacity of all carrier channels available to the first terminal, and allocating a second bandwidth between the network device and the first terminal by allocating a new number of carrier channels. The present invention further relates to a network device and a device for communication.
