Publication number: 20180075415Abstract: A method of matching a job-seeking driver with a driving job is implemented with the aid of a data-processing system including a computer memory and a job-match algorithm. The data-processing system receives data relating to driver jobs for which drivers are sought and stores in the computer memory a uniquely-identifiable job-data file corresponding to each driver job for which data has been received. Additionally, the data-processing system receives driver-related data associated with job-seeking drivers and stores in the computer memory a uniquely-identifiable driver-data file corresponding to each job-seeking driver for which data has been received. A stored job-date file is algorithmically matched with a stored driver-data file based on a predetermined set of job-match threshold criteria. Information relating to a stored job-date file to which a driver-date file is algorithmically matched is rendered available to the driver associated with the driver-date file through an output interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 12, 2016Publication date: March 15, 2018Inventors: James A. Ray, Long Bao Pham

Publication number: 20100114562Abstract: A computer implemented method of processing a digitally encoded document having a text composed by an author by using a processor to analyse the segmentation, punctuation and linguistics of text and storing the results in a digitally accessible format. Author traits are then predicted using a machine learning system based on the results of the segmentation, punctuation and linguistics analysis of the text.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2007Publication date: May 6, 2010Applicant: APPEN PTY LIMITEDInventors: Ben Hutchinson, Tanja Gaustad, Dominique Estival, Wil Radford, Son Bao Pham

Publication number: 20100100815Abstract: A preferred example of the process flow of the inventive method (1) is depicted in FIG. 1). The first step (2) of the method (1) is to import an email document (3) to be parsed. In the preprocessing step (10) the email (3) is processed to determine the presence of any header text (5) (excluding any header text that may be within the embedded reply chain) or attachments 4, including attached email documents, if any. Once the header text (5), attachments (4) or other forwarded materials have been identified in the preprocessing step (10), these components of the email (3) are categorized by the computer (51) as non-author composed text. Next the process flow of the parsing computer (51) moves to the step of normalization (11). This entails processing the email document (3) to ascertain whether it is in a preferred format and, if the email document (3) is not in the preferred format, converting at least some of the information within the email document to the preferred format.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2007Publication date: April 22, 2010Applicant: APPEN PTY LIMITEDInventors: Ben Hutchinson, Tanja Gaustad, Dominique Estival, Wil Radford, Son Bao Pham

Publication number: 20060274376Abstract: A method for photocopying an original color document reduces the amount of color in the resulting photocopy. This is accomplished by scanning bands of the original document to create image bands, detecting a background color in one or more margins of the document that are within the scanned image bands, determining a stretch factor based on the color in the margins, and then scaling pixel values of the pixels by the stretch factor. The stretch factor may be established in one space, e.g., luminance space, and the scaling may be performed in another space, e.g., RGB, though this is not an absolute requirement. A device capable of performing the foregoing thereby reduces the amount of color ink or color toner consumed when the color background of an original document is not needed in the photocopy.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2005Publication date: December 7, 2006Inventors: James Bailey, Bao Pham

Patent number: 6823419Abstract: An interface circuit replaces a selected IDE command received from a host computer with an invalid command and routes the invalid command to a data storage device. In this manner, the interface circuit provides convenient, cost-effective technique for preventing a selected IDE command sent by the host computer from reaching the data storage device. Moreover, by replacing the selected command with an invalid command, rather than merely blocking the selected command, the data storage device can respond with an error message rather than leaving the data storage device and the IDE bus in a non-deterministic state that might require user intervention. The interface circuit is particularly well-suited for preventing a host computer from writing to an IDE hard disk drive in a gaming machine.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2003Date of Patent: November 23, 2004Assignee: IGTInventors: Charles R. Berg, Bao Pham
