    Abstract: The present invention relates to a nonwoven fabric for a hook and loop fastening device wherein the fabric comprises needlepunched fibers forming a plurality of loops which are effective for releasably engaging the hooks in a hook component, wherein the fabric has a weight of about 1.5 to about 4.0 ounces/sq. yd., and a thickness of about 0.015 inches to about 0.050 inches. The product may be used as fastening device for disposable products.
