  • Publication number: 20120204507
Abstract: An attic tray made from a breathable membrane for use in controlling moisture in a building attic and improving the energy efficiency of the building achieved by installing the tray above the roof rafters thereby providing the presence of an air gap between the breathable membrane and the roof deck such that energy that normally passes from the living space into the attic and out the top of the building is conserved.

  • Publication number: 20110214384
Abstract: A self-adhesive flashing for integrating a flanged fenestration unit installed in a rough opening in a wall with a water resistive barrier where the flashing includes an elongated substrate having a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer adhered to at least one side of the substrate along a lateral edge of the substrate and methods for applying the flashing.

  • Patent number: 7641952
Abstract: A self-adhesive laminate with an emissivity of no greater than about 0.40 made of a sheet layer having first and second outer surfaces, the sheet layer comprising at least one layer selected from the group consisting of nonwoven fabrics, woven fabrics, nonwoven fabric-film laminates, woven fabric-film laminates, films, paper-film laminates, and composites thereof with at least one multi-layer coating on said first outer surface of the sheet layer, said multi-layer coating comprising a first metal coating layer adjacent the first outer surface of the sheet layer; and an outer organic coating layer of a composition containing a material selected from the group consisting of organic polymers, organic oligomers, compounds, and combinations thereof, deposited on the metal layer; and with an adhesive layer coating the second outer surface of the sheet layer and wherein the sheet layer coated with said multilayer coating is creped.

  • Publication number: 20090158683
Abstract: A multiple sheet building wrap for wrapping the structural components of a building in order to protect the underlying structural components and optional building sheathing from moisture is provided. The building wrap is particularly useful under facades such as wet applied stucco or engineered stone, demonstrating good drainage of liquid water and moisture vapor permeability. The building wrap is a composite of a water resistive barrier, a three-dimensional mesh layer and a porous intervening layer which acts to filter the stucco as it is applied. An exterior wall construction incorporating such building wrap is also provided.

    Publication date: June 25, 2009
Inventors: Theresa Ann Weston, Barbara Klimowicz O'Rourke, Mieczyslaw (Michel) Stachnik, Warren Francis Knoff, Wazir Nobbee, Kimdolyn Boone
  • Publication number: 20090090068
Abstract: The invention pertains to a self-adhesive corner-shaped flashing member for flashing a corner of a recessed window or other opening in a building and a method for making the member. The invention also pertains to a method for flashing recessed corners of recessed windows and the like.

  • Patent number: 6817764
Abstract: An improved pressure vessel comprising a polymer inner bladder inside a containment envelope is provided which is well-suited for transporting hazardous materials therewithin via air transport. The improved pressure vessel features a seal placed over the closure of the containment envelope which has been found to suppress failure of the pressure vessel by creep which occurs as a result of the high internal pressure that the pressure vessel experiences at high altitudes. The seal also serves to indicate whether or not the containment envelope has been tampered with after having been sealed.
