Patent number: 7882267Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for providing communications services. One method receives a request for communications service. The request for communications service originates from a client communications device associated with a user and requests communications service from a service provider. An availability of at least one of i) a communications network operated by the service provider and ii) another communications network operated by another service provider is dynamically assessed in real-time. A best-value scenario of segmentation, dispersion, assemblage, and routing of electronic data is assessed to fulfill the request. The best-value scenario maximizes profitability for the service provider. The communications service is provided to fulfill the request according to the best-value scenario.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2008Date of Patent: February 1, 2011Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Donna K. Hodges, Barrett Morris Kreiner, Steven N. Tischer

Publication number: 20100177876Abstract: An automatic call distribution system includes a first software control module and a caller identification device for capturing caller identification information associated with an incoming call, a call agent station in communication with the automatic call distribution system, and an interactive voice response system in communication with the automatic call distribution system. The interactive voice response system administers a survey to a caller associated with the caller identification information. In response to receiving the incoming call, a transaction is completed between the caller and a call agent. Upon completion of the transaction, the call agent asks the caller to take part in the survey and seeks permission of the caller to use the caller's caller identification information in the survey. Upon obtaining consent from the caller, the call is routed by the automatic call distribution system from the call agent to the interactive voice response system to initiate the survey.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 30, 2009Publication date: July 15, 2010Applicant: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Ronald J. Perrella, Barrett Morris Kreiner

Patent number: 7716372Abstract: An embodiment of the invention is a method for providing services to a user. The method includes receiving a request from a user for content and obtaining a user preference defining at least one of a modality preference, a paradigm preference and a service preference. Content is accessed including markup tags associating said content with the user preference. Processes identified with a process markup tag associating said processes with said user preference are executed and the order of processes is dependent on the user preference. Content having markup tags corresponding to the user preference is retrieved and provided to the user.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2003Date of Patent: May 11, 2010Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property, I, L.P.Inventors: Donna K. Patent number: 7711575Abstract: Methods, systems, and products provide communications services. A request for communications service is received that originates from a client communications device associated with a user. The request for communications service communicates to a service provider of a communications network. The service provider then permits the user to negotiate with other service providers of other communications networks to fulfill the request for communications service.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2003Date of Patent: May 4, 2010Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Donna K. Hodges, Barrett Morris Kreiner, Steven N. Tischer

Publication number: 20100085430Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for recording video data of an event. The apparatuses include a processor communicating with memory. The memory stores video data of the event captured by a camera, and the video data includes a series of picture frames of the event. A loop buffer also stores video data of the event captured by the camera. A rule-based engine stored in the memory uses a set of rules to store the contents of the loop buffer in the memory. The apparatus utilizes the loop buffer to provide video data prior to occurrence of the event.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 8, 2009Publication date: April 8, 2010Inventors: Barrett Morris Kreiner, Joseph E. Patent number: 7672444Abstract: A system and method is provided that includes an automatic call distribution system adapted to communicate over a network and includes a first software control module and a caller identification information device. The automatic call distribution system is configured to capture the caller identification information associated with an incoming call placed by a client and to route the incoming call and the caller identification information received from the network to a call agent station. The system also provides an interactive voice response system in communication with the automatic call distribution system for administering a survey to a client in communication with the call agent station. The survey is then associated with the client's caller identification information and identification information of the call agent.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 2003Date of Patent: March 2, 2010Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property, I, L.P.Inventors: Ronald J Perrella, Barrett Morris Kreiner

Publication number: 20090132325Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for providing communications services. A request for data is processed, and a data stream is received to fulfill the request. A determination is made that a subcontracted processing service is required. At least a portion of the data stream is subcontracted to a different service provider to receive the subcontracted processing service. A result of the subcontracted processing service is received.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 22, 2009Publication date: May 21, 2009Inventors: Danna K. Hodges, Barrett Morris Kreiner, Steven N. Patent number: 7519657Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for providing communications services. One method receives a first data stream at a computer, and the first data stream includes packets of data packetized according to a packet protocol. The first data stream is segmented into segments according to a set of subscriber-specified rules stored in memory. A subscriber to a subscription service specifies the set of subscriber-specified rules, and the set of subscriber-specified rules specifies how electronic data is formatted for the subscriber. At least one segment is dispersed via a network for a subsequent processing service. A result of the processing service is received. A second data stream is assembled, and the second data stream includes at least one of i) the result of the processing service and ii) another segment. The second data stream is then communicated via the network.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2003Date of Patent: April 14, 2009Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property l, L.P.Inventors: Donna K.
