  • Patent number: 9297499
Abstract: A device for the cryopreservation and/or vitrification of a biological sample in a freezing medium is described. The device preferably comprises a bath for receiving a vessel containing a biological sample in liquid-phase nitrogen. In one example, the bath includes a first member extending generally vertically from a bottom wall portion which divides the interior chamber of the bath into a first sub-chamber adapted for receiving a volume of cryogenic freezing medium and a second or overflow sub-chamber adapted to receive freezing medium from the first sub-chamber. A second member extends generally horizontally between the sidewall portions of the bath and includes at least one opening for receiving a biological sample-containing vessel(s). A kit including a cryogenic storage device and a vessel is also described.

  • Patent number: 6461704
Abstract: A window panel for use in automotive glazing applications is described, in which inner planer piece transparent plastic is bonded to an outer piece molded from an opaque plastic creating a masking border. The two pieces have overlapping portions, and may be of reduced or tapering thickness to create a transition masking zone of reduced or varying opacity. The inner piece may be designed to separate from the outer piece at a lower impact force than that required to fracture the pieces to establish a prescribed failure mode. The window panel may be formed by a two shot molding process in which the inner and outer pieces are molded respectively to increase the overall window panel size beyond that able to be molded by a one shot process.

  • Patent number: 6432332
Abstract: A molded plastic window panel for automotive glazing in which texturized surfaces are molded into the perimeter of the panel to define a translucent masking border. A pattern of discrete texturized areas is adjacent a solid texturized band to provide a fade out effect. The window panel is molded from polycarbonate to block UV light transmission through the translucent masking border to protect an adhesive bond or seal used to seal the window panel in an automotive body window opening.
