Abstract: Snack products and methods for producing snack products comprising a mixture of an expandable base product and one or more relatively non-expandable inclusions. The base product may comprise a pelletized or non-pelletized wheat, potato, corn, rice, other flours, starches, and grains, vegetables, and/or mixes thereof. The inclusions may comprise one or more types of herbs and spices, vegetables, fruits, meats, beans, grains, or other ingredients. The mixture is processed using an expansion machine (or “puffing machine”) that is operative to cook and expand the mixture to form a snack product, such as a chip, cracker, cake, or the like.
