Abstract: A method for activating a media processing device to a web server by a data processing device is disclosed. A device registration request is provided to the web server. The device registration request comprises information specific to the media processing device. An activation code is retrieved from the web server based on the information specific to the media processing device. The activation code is provided to the media processing device for triggering the activation of the media processing device. The activation code is forwarded by the media processing device to the web server and the media processing device is registered and activated on confirmation of the activation code by the web server.

Abstract: A stand-alone printing apparatus for transferring one or more digital photographs captured by a digital device to a printable medium. The printing apparatus includes an input member for receiving digital photographs from a source and image processing for generating an image corresponding to each of the digital photographs. The photoprinter apparatus includes dynamically definable image processing software and an integrated user interface with template and settings storage capabilities.

Abstract: An interface device is configured for printing from a host having a communications port to an imaging apparatus having a PictBridge port for receiving print data from a camera. The host includes an operating system having a spool subsystem. The interface device includes an input port configured to communicatively connect to the communications port; an output port configured to communicatively connect to the PictBridge port; and a controller interconnecting the input port and the output port. The controller is configured to execute program instructions to print from the host via the communications port to the imaging apparatus via the PictBridge port in real time using an output of the spool subsystem.

Abstract: A system and method for performing host-assisted web page printing from a mobile device is disclosed. A direct communication link is established with the mobile device and one or more files associated with a web page are received from the mobile device. The one or more files associated with the web page are transferred to a host and processed by a print application program running on the host to generate print data corresponding to the one or more files. The print data is processed through a printer driver and printed.

Abstract: A method for performing host-assisted document printing from a mobile device in an imaging system having a printer communicatively coupled to a host includes establishing a direct communication link from the mobile device to the printer; transferring a native document file from the mobile device to the printer; sending the native document file from the printer to the host; processing the native document file by a print application program running on the host to generate print data corresponding to the native document file; processing the print data through a printer driver associated with the printer; and printing the print data at the printer.

Abstract: A photoprinter accesses remote digital photographs and files. A computer readable medium has one or more files, such as digital photographs. A computer has access to the files on the computer readable medium. A communication link connects the computer to a photoprinter. The photoprinter has a selection mechanism and access to the computer readable medium over the communication link in response to a user?s input to the selection mechanism.

Abstract: Methods and a photoprinter are provided for performing more efficient data management on digital photographic images residing on a photoprinter. Alterations to the digital photographic image are processed at a first resolution while insertions of text and graphics onto the digital photographic image are processed at a second resolution.

Abstract: A client/server printer driver including a client-side subsystem capable of transmitting a print job to a server-side subsystem capable of receiving the print job from the client-side and processing the print job and sending the processed data back to the client-side for output. A client/server printer driver including a client-side subsystem capable of dividing the print job into portions to be processed client-side and server-side and then transmitting the server-side portions of the job to a server-side subsystem capable of processing the client-side portions of the print job to create and receiving the processed server-side portions. The system has a server-side subsystem capable of receiving the server-side portions from the client-side subsystem and processing these portions to create processed server-side portions and transmitting the server-side portions to the client-side.
