  • Publication number: 20240147367
Abstract: A proximity awareness device (101; 200) is able to establish proximity awareness on neighbouring devices (102, 103, 104). The proximity awareness device (101, 200) thereto comprises: a first transceiver (201) configured to implement a ranging protocol to determine a distance and/or angle between the proximity awareness device (101; 200) and at least one of the neighbouring devices (102, 103, 104); and a second transceiver (202) configured to implement a discovery protocol to discover presence of the neighbouring devices (102, 103, 104). The second transceiver (202) consumes less power than the first transceiver (201). In order to further optimize the energy efficiency of the proximity awareness device (101; 200), the first transceiver (201) is controlled to operate according to a first duty cycle (321, 322; 421, 422), and the second transceiver (202) is controlled to operate according to a second duty cycle (323, 324; 423, 424).

  • Patent number: 11944175
Abstract: A luggage article may include a plurality of walls together defining an outer structure of the luggage article, a wheel bracket attached to and extending from one of the walls, and one or more wheels attached to the wheel bracket. The wheel bracket may comprise a leaf spring having a loop-shaped profile and the one or more wheels may be rotationally attached to a lower end of the loop-shaped leaf spring. The configuration of the wheel bracket may result in higher shock absorption and reduced wheel noise comparative to conventional wheel brackets, and offer an improvement and alternative to conventional luggage wheel brackets.

  • Patent number: 6823390
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of setting up data communication with a communication means (TERA), a first (TERA) and a second (TERB) communication means therefor, set-up program modules (PMPA and PMPB) therefor, a test means (CK) therefor and a test module (PMCK) for a test means. The first communication means (TERA) possesses at least one protocol module (P11A, P21A and BA) for data communication via at least one first layer of a communication protocol. The second communication means (TERB) sends a test means (CK) at least one target protocol property of the at least one first or one second layer of the protocol for data communication with the first communication means (TERA). The first communication means (TERA) sends the test means at least one actual protocol property of the at least one layer, able to be processed by the at least one protocol module (P11A, P21A and BA), of the protocol. The test means compares the at least one actual protocol property with the target protocol property.
