  • Patent number: 6751027
Abstract: A projector is provided which can handle high light intensities without dust or foreign matter penetrating the inside of the apparatus and thus deteriorating the quality of the image projected. The projector apparatus comprises a spatial light modulator (SLM) unit provided with a plurality of reflective SLMs and a prismatic light splitting/combining unit. The SLM unit is enclosed in a substantially sealed chamber. A heat path for cooling each SLM is provided, whereby the heat path connection is through the wall of the substantially sealed chamber. In this way, heat energy from the main heat source inside the sealed chamber is brought outside the sealed chamber for dissipation.

  • Patent number: 6224215
Abstract: The present invention relates to a light valve image projector with a disposition for improving the contrast of an optical image projected on a screen by that projector. The projector comprises at least one illumination system, at least one field lens, at least one set consisting of a polarizer, an LCD and an analyzer and at least a projection lens, and presents at least one optical axis which includes an angle &agr; with the optical axis of the projection lenses. The invention consists in positioning the analyzer so that it includes an angle larger than &agr; with the LCD, at least for the light rays that pass through the contrast limited area of the LCD. The invention consists furthermore in placing the polarizer so that it includes an angle larger than &agr; with the LCD. Both the analyzer and/or the polarizer may have a flat or a curved surface.

  • Patent number: 5527218
Abstract: An agricultural harvesting machine, such as a forage harvester, comprises a plurality of crop processing means (20, 21, 26, 27, 36,38, 49), which are driven in a first sense by an engine (70) through a main clutch (124) and a first drive line portion (111, 112, 39, 87, 89) or a second drive line portion (73, 75, 77, 80, 81, 83). A motor means (110), coupled to the first drive line portion and operable to drive one of the crop processing means, such as a cutterhead (36), in a second sense, opposite to the first sense, is permanently coupled to said first drive line portion, so that during normal harvesting it can provide driving power to auxiliary devices. The second drive line portion is linked to the first drive line portion by means of a belt transmission (95, 99, 100), which is engaged by a hydraulic cylinder (106) when the main clutch (124) is engaged. The first drive line comprises an overrun clutch (87) which is disengaged when the rotation of the cutterhead (36) is reversed by the motor means (110).

  • Patent number: 5058495
Abstract: In a baler having a plunger reciprocating in a bale case and knotters for tying strands of twine around bales, two trip mechanisms are provided for automatic actuation of the knotters. A first trip mechanism is capable of preventing operation of the knotters until a bale of desired length is formed. A second trip mechanism is operatively associated with the plunger in a manner so that the plunger does not prevent the second trip mechanism from permitting operation of the knotters provided the plunger is moving in a direction in the bale case to compress crop material into bales. A locking device coupled to the first trip mechanism is cooperable with the second trip mechanism for controlling the position thereof in accordance with the position of the first trip mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4961679
Abstract: An agricultural bale accumlator includes a load bed adapted for accumulating thereon a plurality of bales with bales being received one after another in a first direction on the load bed. Bale-transfer arms are operable to displace the bales, after receipt on the load bed, across the load bed in a second direction transverse to the first direction and to position these bales in side-by-side relationship on the load bed thus forming a compact parcel thereof. A bale-discharge conveyor is operable to discharge a parcel of bales accumulated on the load bed to the ground. This bale accumulator also comprises a bale-turning mechanism for turning each bale through 90.degree. around its longitudinal axis upon receipt on the load bed.

  • Patent number: 4656930
Abstract: An automatic twine wrapper (31) for a round baler (10) is provided comprising a twine dispensing arm (36) having a retracted home position and which is movable in the vicinity of the bale chamber inlet (41). A drive motor (42) is operably coupled with the dispensing arm (36) for moving the latter during the twine dispensing cycle and automatic control means (65) are coupled with the drive motor (42) for causing the drive motor (42) to move the dispensing arm (36) in accordance with a predetermined dispensing cycle from its retracted home position toward the bale chamber inlet (41) and in the vicinity thereof and back to its home position as the twine dispensing cycle is being completed. The control means (65) comprises a starter means (50) operable to initiate the predetermined dispensing cycle and detector means (61) operable to detect whether twine (32) is being wrapped upon the bale (R).
