  • Patent number: 6385910
Abstract: A swivel-sliding door system for a vehicle having at least one door leaf situated in the vehicle wall in the closed state, and situated on the outside in front of the vehicle wall in the open state while leaving a door opening free. A drive as well as transverse and longitudinal guides are provided which enable a movement at the at least one door leaf transverse relative to the vehicle wall and along the vehicle wall, wherein the drive and the transverse and longitudinal guides are combined into one complete operating unit that can be mounted as one whole in the vehicle and be coupled to the at least one door leaf. The operating unit comprises a frame which, in assembled condition, is fixedly connected to the vehicle and an assembly which is movably provided in the frame and which comprises a drive motor for the door leaf movements.

  • Patent number: 5647458
Abstract: A magnetic rail brake device comprising at least two wear pieces manufactured from ferromagnetic material, magnetically insulated from each other by a filling piece and connected to a magnet which, in operation, are capable of providing a magnetic field extending through the wear pieces. In operation, the wear pieces are contacted with a rail so as to enable the magnetic field to close through the rail, and at least at the location of the parts to be contacted with the rail, the wear pieces comprise wear strips manufactured from nodular cast iron, and at least on the side facing the rail, the filling piece is formed from austenitic cast iron.

  • Patent number: 5277240
Abstract: An overhead door assembly designed particularly for use with vehicles such as railroad cars is disclosed. The door assembly is made up of an overhead door, vertical guide members for guiding the overhead door in the vertical direction and horizontal guide members for guiding the door in the horizontal direction. A motor is provided for driving the door between an open and a closed position. According to the invention, the door is first guided to a position directly in front of the door opening, but slightly spaced therefrom. The door is then moved horizontally in a plugging movement so as to securely close off the door opening.

  • Patent number: 5207024
Abstract: A door system of the swivel-sliding type for use in a vehicle, suitable in particular for a vehicle for public transport, the door system comprising at least one door panel; suspension means for the at least one door panel, which comprise a telescopic guide; and a drive system for the at least one door panel, wherein the drive system comprises at least one piston-cylinder assembly of which a first movable part is connected to the telescopic guide via a system of arms and rods so as to cause the telescopic guide in operation to perform a plugging movement, while a second part of the piston-cylinder assembly is provided with a projection extending into a track having a first section extending substantially transverse to the at least one door panel and an adjoining section extending substantially parallel to the telescopic guide, the projection forming a part of a pantograph construction mounted between a fixed pivot point and a point of attachment on the door panel, said pantograph construction transmitting the

  • Patent number: 5018605
Abstract: A magnetic rail brake device for rail vehicles, comprising one or more pairs of brake blocks adapted to be pulled, in operation, magnetically against the rail. The brake device is characterized by at least one permanent magnet movable up and down in a magnet housing. The magnet housing is arranged in such a manner that in rest position of the permanent magnet in the magnet housing, the magnetic field lines close through an upper portion of the magnet housing. In an operating position of the magnet in the magnet housing, the field lines can extend through pole pieces within brake block members of magnetizable material which can be brought into contact with the rail.

  • Patent number: 4454685
Abstract: A door construction for a vehicle, in particular a railway carriage, comprising a one-leaved or two-leaved door which through the intermediary of one or more brackets, secured to a rotatable, vertical shaft, can be opened or closed by rotating said shaft, and a drive means for rotating said rotatable shaft, which drive means acts through the intermediary of a linkage on a first arm secured to said rotatable shaft, and by means of which the door can be locked in the closed position. In the closed position of the door, the linkage can be locked in a single point according to the overcenter closing principle.
