  • Patent number: 9769638
Abstract: There is provided a system for enhancing safety of a vehicle for which an operator wears a helmet, the system comprising an RFID device comprising an RFID tag and an RFID reader adapted to detect whether the helmet is within a proximity distance from the vehicle and to output a first helmet status signal; a helmet presence detector adapted to detect whether the helmet is being worn by the operator and to output a second helmet status signal; and a circuit for receiving safety conditions signals comprising the first and second helmet status signals and for activating an ignition system of the vehicle when safety conditions are detected, the safety conditions comprising when the helmet is detected to be concurrently within the proximity distance and worn by the operator. There is also provided a safety circuit and helmet device.

  • Publication number: 20170245657
Abstract: A multi-cradle system for managing multiple infants is provided. The multi-cradle system includes multiple cradles to carry multiple infants. The cradles are mounted on a supporting frame. Each cradle is assigned a unique identifier. The system includes a profile module and a mapping module. The profile module is configured for storing at least one user profile of an infant. The mapping module is configured for dynamically linking the user profile to one of the cradles using the unique identifier thereof, when the infant is placed therein.

  • Publication number: 20170241671
Abstract: Embodiments provide a system and method for harvesting solar thermal energy. According to at least one embodiment, there is provided a system which includes an absorption module, a storage module, and a flow control module. The absorption module retains a working fluid in a substantially constant volume and facilitates absorption of solar thermal energy in the working fluid. The storage module is fluidically coupled to the absorption module and is spatially positioned such that working fluid stored therein has higher gravitational potential energy relative to that stored in the absorption module. The flow control module permits passage of the working fluid from the absorption module to the storage module based on pressure of the working fluid in the absorption module exceeding a predefined threshold. When the working fluid transfers from the absorption module to the storage module, the thermal kinetic energy of the working fluid is transformed into gravitational potential energy thereof.
