Patent number: 11380291Abstract: An adjustable compensated nut system for a stringed musical instrument allows for improved intonation of each string of the instrument regardless of string gauge, desired tension, material, or construction. The adjustable compensated nut includes a seat which accepts one or more individual and interchangeable saddles featuring different intonation portions which have different dimensions which allow for achieving the desired pitch or intonation of each individual string of the instrument. Optimally, the number of intonation portions is equal to the number of strings of the instrument, and each particular intonation portion is dimensioned to improve the intonation of a particular string according to string tension and properties. Advantageously, the saddles of the nut are interchangeable and so that it is possible to adjust the degree of compensation to correspond with string choice.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2020Date of Patent: July 5, 2022Inventor: Becket Colon

Patent number: 10139814Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a system for manufacturing a board body (10), such as a skateboard, from a blank (20) having an indefinite shape. The blank (20) with the indefinite shape is collected by a handling robot (50). The shape of the blank (20) is scanned in three dimensions by means of a vision system (47) and a virtual image of said blank (20) is stored in a memory and used to calculate a three dimensional cutting path for milling the blank (20) into said board body (10).Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2015Date of Patent: November 27, 2018Assignee: Performance SK8 Holding Inc.Inventor: Becket Colon

Publication number: 20170027273Abstract: Shoe used for skateboarding are often worn and torn in specific areas needed to grip and control the skateboard. This wear and tear affects the visual appearance of the shoe as well as its function for skateboarding. According to the invention, a renewal part of the upper part of the shoe can be removed and replaced. An inner layer of the renewal part is arranged to hold a removable outer layer of the renewal part in place.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2015Publication date: February 2, 2017Applicants: PERFORMANCE SK8 EUROPE AB, PERFORMANCE SK8 HOLDING INC.Inventor: BECKET COLON

Patent number: 9433852Abstract: A wheel for a skateboard, roller skate or the like has a radial surface arranged to provide contact with the ground, said radial surface comprising areas of at least a first material and areas of a second material, said second material having at least one mechanical property differing from that of the first material. The first and second materials are arranged in such a way that they form a pattern on the radial surface which varies around the circumference of the wheel. This enables the adaptation of the behavior of the wheel in a very flexible way.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2012Date of Patent: September 6, 2016Assignee: PERFORMANCE SK8 HOLDING INCInventor: Becket Colon

Patent number: 9067125Abstract: A kicktail concave skateboard includes a blank having opposite ends, at least one end being recessed. An element is mounted on the recessed end such that a portion of the element adjoining the blank is flush with the blank. The element is formed of a material having a lower mechanical damping capacity and a higher modulus of elasticity than the blank. The element includes a downwardly facing exposed side having a downward projection thereon, to facilitate the execution of an “ollie” maneuver.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2009Date of Patent: June 30, 2015Assignee: Performance SK8 Holding Inc.Inventor: Becket Colón
