  • Patent number: 11547810
Abstract: A drug delivery device is provided herein, the device including a reservoir for containing a medicament. The medicament includes a suspension of solids in a liquid carrier. The device also includes a needle having a distal end for injection into a patient, a proximal end in communication with the reservoir, and a lumen extending between the distal and proximal ends. A path is defined from the reservoir to the distal end of the needle through the lumen, the path having an inner diameter that decreases in a proximal to distal direction along at least a portion thereof. Advantageously, with the subject invention, a flow path may be defined which provides a more gradual transition in diameter from the reservoir to a distal tip of the needle. In this manner, changes in velocity of the suspension may be less abrupt than in the prior art, thus better maintaining solid particles in the suspension.

  • Patent number: 7984001
Abstract: A wireless communication system (20) includes a base station controller (22) that receives timing information from a data set (26) that is generated by a neural network (28). The data set (26) allows for generating timing information based upon previous time information received from a GPS (24) and in one example, is capable of covering a time interval of up to two weeks during which effective communication with the GPS may be interrupted. In one example, the data set is continuously updated so that the base station controller (24) continuously has up to two weeks of future time information available.

  • Patent number: 6493224
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus to increase convection heat transfer in an electrical system. The increase in convection heat transfer is achieved by applying a heat source in the vicinity of an electronic element. This effectively increases the amount of airflow across the electronic element.

  • Patent number: 5565656
Abstract: The present invention provides enclosures for protecting equipment, particularly electrical equipment, from electromagnetic interference. The enclosure includes at least two EMI-shielding portions which, when assembled, at least partially enclose a piece of equipment to be shielded. The first EMI-shielding portion of the enclosure is provided with a first interlocking element. The first interlocking element is integrally formed with the first EMI-shielding portion. A second EMI-shielding portion of the enclosure includes a second integrally-formed interlocking element. The first and second interlocking elements connect the first and second EMI-shielding portions of the enclosure such that electromagnetic energy is not transferred through the connected first and second interlocking elements at a substantially greater rate than through the remaining portions of the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 5557063
Abstract: Improved RF shielding is disclosed. The shielding provides a joint seal that can eliminate the soldering, and the screws and gaskets, otherwise required for securing RF shield caps and walls to reduce EMI. Conductive shield caps that can be simply snap fit against the groundplane are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5550526
Abstract: The present invention provides thermal detection elements having a controlled relationship between a thermal radiating and thermal sensing element. The thermal detection element includes an insulating substrate having a plurality of conductive interconnection elements formed on the substrate to permit electrical connection of the substrate with other electrical components. A thermal radiating element is at least partially embedded within the substrate and mounted such it electrically communicates with at least one of the conductive interconnection elements. A thermal sensing element is mounted adjacent the thermal radiating element such that a substantial portion of the thermal energy radiated by the thermal radiating element is channeled to the thermal sensing element. The thermal sensing element is also mounted such that it electrically communicates with at least one of the conductive interconnection elements.
