  • Publication number: 20100253094
Abstract: A combined pump and valve apparatus including a cylindrical casing, a shaft arranged symmetrically in the casing, a device fixedly attached to the shaft and in close fit with the cylindrical casing, thereby defining separated chambers within the casing, a plurality of outlets/inlets arranged along the circumference of the casing, and a plurality of axially arranged inlets/outlets, each of which is fixedly connected to a respective one of the separated chambers. The axially arranged inlets/outlets are alternately in fluid connection with each of the outlets/inlets fixedly arranged along the circumference of the casing in response to rotation of the shaft and the device with respect to the casing. An impeller arrangement pumps a fluid through the combined pump and valve apparatus in response to the rotation of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 6972505
Abstract: A rotating electrical machine and method for making the machine, where the machine includes a high-voltage stator winding and elongated support devices for supporting the winding. The machine and method employ an arrangement of cable that is made of inner conductive strands, covered with a first semiconducting layer, which is covered with an insulating layer, which is covered with a second semiconducting layer. The cable is wound in slots in the stator such that separate cable lead-throughs are positioned in specific arrangements with respect to each other and in slots of the stator. The arrangement of the cable in the stator protects the integrity of the respective components in the cable and particularly the second semiconducting layer.

  • Patent number: 6737767
Abstract: For a method of operating of a synchronous compensator including a rotating electric machine including a rotor and a stator with at least one winding with a solid insulation enclosing the electric field, relevant parameters for temperature conditions in the rotor are determined, and during over-excited operation, to temporarily enlarge the field of operation of the synchronous compensator, cooling of the rotor is forced depending on a rotor temperature value determined from the parameters. The synchronous compensator measures parameters relevant for the temperature conditions of the rotor. A mechanism is also provided to force the cooling of the rotor depending on rotor temperature values determined from the parameters during over-excited operation of the electric machine.

Abstract: For a method of operating of a synchronous compensator comprising a rotating electric machine comprising rotor (46) and stator (2) with at least one winding with a solid insulation enclosing the electric field, relevant parameters for the temperature conditions in the rotor are determined, and during over-excited operation in order to temporarily enlarge the field of operation of the synchronous compensator, the cooling of the rotor is forced depending on a rotor temperature value (TR) determined from said parameters. Such a synchronous compensator comprises measuring means for measuring parameters relevant for the temperature conditions of the rotor. Means (36, 38) are also provided to force the cooling of the rotor (46) depending on rotor temperature values (TR) determined from said parameters during over-excited operation of the electric machine.

  • Publication number: 20020153800
Abstract: In the stator winding in a rotating electric machine the winding is situated in radial slots (111) in the stator (106). According to the invention the winding consists of a cable which forms layers at different radial distances from the air gap (108) between the rotor (107) and the stator (106). The part of the cable (101) that passes to and fro once through the stator between different layers forms a coil (113) with an arcshaped coil end protruding from each end surface (114) of the stator (106). The coils (113) are divided into coil group parts. All coils (113) in the same coil group part are arranged axially, one outside the other with substantially coinciding centres and with successively increasing diameters. The number of slots (111) that are bridged by the coils (113) successively increases within the coil group part.
