  • Patent number: 11473015
Abstract: An arrangement for the recycling of carbon and hydrocarbon compounds from organic input material is provided. The arrangement includes: a reactor comprising a chamber that is limited by a jacket and upper and lower end-wall sections, gas inlet means for the supply of heated inert gas to the input material, whereby the gas inlet means is connected in a manner that transfers gas to a gas emission source, and gas outlets for leading the gas out of the chamber, where the gas outlet means comprises openings through which gas flows intended to supply the gas into the chamber, whereby the openings through which gas flows are arranged such that a fall in pressure is generated during the supply of gas that exceeds the fall in pressure of the gas during passage through the input material that has been introduced into the chamber. A corresponding method is also described.

  • Patent number: 8419812
Abstract: A reactor for the recovery of carbon and hydrocarbons from organic input material through pyrolysis includes a vessel with a chamber that is limited outwardly by an outer jacket and by an upper and a lower end-wall section, and in which chamber input material in fragmented form is to be placed; an inlet which for the introduction of heated inert gas into the chamber for passage through the input material comprises several inlet units arranged in areas in the chamber; and an outlet which for the passage out from the chamber of gas that has passed through the input material that has been placed in the chamber comprises number of outlet units arranged in areas in the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20100031571
Abstract: The invention concerns a reactor for pyrolysis and a method for charging and emptying such a reactor. A reactor according to the invention for the recovery of carbon and hydrocarbons from organic input material through pyrolysis, comprises a vessel (2) that extends along a vertical central axis (6) and demonstrates a chamber (3) that is limited outwardly by an outer surface (5) and by an upper and a lower end-wall section (7, 8), in which chamber it is intended that input material (4) in fragmented form is to be placed whereby the vessel has an opening (12) with a hatch (14) that when in a closed position forms a limit between the chamber and the surrounding atmosphere, an inlet (9) for the introduction of heated gas into the chamber, and an outlet (10) for the passage out from the chamber of gas that has passed through the input material that has been placed in the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20060163053
Abstract: Disclosed is a scaleable pyrolysis system for batch processing of waste vehicle tires and other waste to provide pyrolysis products. The core pyrolysis system includes one or more batch reactors, heating units, solids processing units, gas/liquid processing units and control units. In operation, the temperature gradients internal to the reactor are controlled by preferential channeling of heat to provide pyrolysis products that are of high quality, and hence commercially advantageous, while facilitating high throughput.

  • Patent number: 6271427
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the recovery of carbon and combinations of hydrocarbons from discarded tyres or similar polymeric material by pyrolysis, using a reactor (3) in which the material is placed in a preferably largely fragmented condition, whereby the material is heated to pyrolysis temperature by the recirculation of previously formed and heated pyrolysis gas which is led through the material and where the pyrolysis gas obtained in this way is brought to condense to condensable products in a condenser (8) connected to the reactor.
