  • Patent number: 12012224
Abstract: An introduced autonomous aerial vehicle can include multiple cameras for capturing images of a surrounding physical environment that are utilized for motion planning by an autonomous navigation system. In some embodiments, the cameras can be integrated into one or more rotor assemblies that house powered rotors to free up space within the body of the aerial vehicle. In an example embodiment, an aerial vehicle includes multiple upward-facing cameras and multiple downward-facing cameras with overlapping fields of view to enable stereoscopic computer vision in a plurality of directions around the aerial vehicle. Similar camera arrangements can also be implemented in fixed-wing aerial vehicles.

  • Publication number: 20240150778
Abstract: The present inventions relate to a breeding system for the production of polyploid maize seeds, maize plants, or maize plant parts where cycles of meiosis, syngamy, and selection are used for interpopulation improvement of progenitor lines, and sexual polyploidization occurs during hybrid production by inducing clonal gamete formation in the parents that are to be crossed. Reciprocal recurrent selection can be used to inform selection of candidate maize lines that are either advanced to a gene editing or genetic modification system or crossed and selected to induce clonal gamete formation by arresting meiotic recombination and chromosome reduction. Crosses of parent maize plants bearing clonal gametes are planned and executed based upon predicted heterotic performance at the polyploid level. The final product is a homogeneous population of hybrid polyploid maize seed, or derivative thereof, bearing both parents' complete nuclear genomes.

  • Publication number: 20240152794
Abstract: The disclosure is directed towards mitigation of qubit crosstalk-induced errors within a quantum computing system (QCS). A compensating signal is provided to one or more qubits. The compensating signal at least partially “cancels-out” (e.g., compensates for) the crosstalk between pairs of qubits. Such crosstalk-induced errors may include leakage of a qubit's quantum state out of the quantum system's computational subspace. Thus, the embodiments may be employed to decrease quantum computational errors occurring from a qubit transitioning (or leaking) to an excited state that is not within the quantum system's computational subspace.

  • Publication number: 20240150270
Abstract: A method of selectively recovering a lipophilic target substance. An insoluble adsorbent is exposed to a solution of the target substance in a lipophilic solvent. Adsorption of the adsorbent with the target substance is facilitated by addition of hydrophilic solvent, which is less hydrophobic than the lipophilic solvent, to the solution during or after exposure of the solution to the insoluble adsorbent, lowering the temperature of the solution or evaporating a portion of the lipophilic solvent. The adsorbent Is isolated from the solution. For desorbing and recovering the target substance, a hydrophobic dissociation fluid may be combined with the adsorbent, a temperature of the adsorbent may be increased or a portion of the hydrophilic solvent may be evaporated. A solution may be exposed to one or more adsorbents for recovering additional lipophilic target substances, recovering hydrophilic target substances or removing unwanted substances.
