    Abstract: A computer implemented method and media performance apparatus. Content items include user owned content and advertising supported content. A determination is made as to whether a next content item for presentation is an advertising supported content item or a user-owned content item. The content item is present if the next content item for presentation is a user-owned content item, and, if not, add to a count if the next content item is an advertising supported content item. An advertisement is presented prior to performing any next advertising supported content item when the count reaches a threshold number.

For example, one disclosed embodiment provides a method for displaying information related to media items in a graphical user interface. The method includes displaying one or more available media items in a view of the graphical user interface, and displaying a control operable to display an exploratory overlay related to a media item. The method further comprises receiving a user selection of the control for a selected media item, and in response displaying the exploratory overlay, the exploratory overlay includes a visual representation of the selected media item and visual representations of a plurality of related media items that are related to the selected media item.

    Abstract: A method and system are provided for facilitating editing of a captured photograph using a set of user interface photo interaction tools. The method includes receiving a user selection of an editing function, which may be a cropping function, through the user interface photo interaction tools. The method additionally includes determining an optimal edited photograph based on the input editing function and presenting the edited photograph on the user interface in order to allow user interaction with the edited photograph through the user interface photo interaction tools. The user interface may receive commands through a remote control device.
