  • Patent number: 8578800
Abstract: In a hydraulic control arrangement for an automated shift transmission, in particular a dual clutch transmission in a motor vehicle including a hydraulic control arrangement, the hydraulic control arrangement has a main pump and a controllable additional pump which jointly ensure that oil is supplied to the hydraulic control arrangement. The additional pump can feed into a control channel of a lubricating pressure slide and build up an adjustable lubricating fluid control pressure. The lubricating fluid pressure in the lubricating cooling system is adjusted in a simple and inexpensive manner by lubricating pressure slide changes modifying the lubricating control pressure in the lubricating cooling system.

  • Patent number: 7971697
Abstract: A clutch device for a motor vehicle has friction elements around which coolant flows and which, by way of a piston, can be pressed against one another for torque transmission. The first piston side is acted on with operating pressure, and the second piston side is acted on with coolant pressure. A valve, by which the operating pressure can be set, and a device which makes a reaction of the coolant pressure on the operating pressure possible are provided. The device is designed as a hydraulic resistance cascade and is connected between coolant supply and coolant return lines of the friction elements. A return pressure line branches off in the center of the hydraulic resistance cascade and is connected to the valve.

  • Patent number: 6666225
Abstract: A system and method serve for optimizing the efficiency of an oil supply having at least two different oil pressure levels. The system has at least two feed devices and at least one control slide with at least two narrowed sections. Each of the narrowed sections is assigned one of the feed devices. Depending on the position of the narrowed sections in the control slide, the respective volume flows are automatically divided into the at least two pressure levels for each of the feed devices as a function of the oil requirement in the respective pressure level.

  • Patent number: 6494797
Abstract: A hydraulically operated automatic transmission assembly wherein a group of dynamic fluid consumers including a continuously variable transmission or a planetary change-speed transmission and a clutch is regulated by a unit which receives pressurized hydraulic fluid from a pump. The pump further serves to supply fluid to several static consumers, such as a torque converter and one or more cooling and/or lubricating units. The fluid which is supplied to the static consumers is influenced by a hydraulic resistor, such as a diaphragm or a throttle, and the quantity of such fluid is maintained within an acceptable range irrespective of eventual leakage of fluid which is being conveyed to the dynamic consumers and irrespective of pronounced fluctuations in the quantity of fluid being necessary for certain modes of operation of the dynamic consumers.

  • Patent number: 6397875
Abstract: The pressure of hydraulic fluid which is supplied to the continuously variable transmission in the power train of a motor vehicle is regulated by an apparatus wherein an adjustable pilot valve can receive fluid from a pilot conduit leading to a pressure reducing valve. The pilot conduit normally receives fluid from a further conduit, wherein the pressure of fluid is at least substantially constant, by way of a flow restrictor. A branch conduit serves to evacuate fluid from the pilot conduit into the pilot valve when the latter is at least partially open. The fluid-discharging end of the flow restrictor confronts the inlet of the branch conduit, and such inlet is narrowed to reduce the likelihood of turbulence developing in the fluid stream flowing from the pilot conduit, across the further conduit and into the inlet of the pilot valve.

  • Patent number: 6170508
Abstract: A valve for regulating the rate of flow and/or the pressure of oil flowing to a transmission or another consumer in the power train of a motor vehicle has a piston which defines with the valve housing a chamber for one or more springs and for oil being admitted through a first inlet by way of a first conduit containing a first throttle. A second inlet admits pressurized oil from a pump, and such oil can be admitted into the consumer by way of a first outlet and a second conduit containing a second throttle and supplying oil to the first conduit. A second outlet can deliver oil from the second inlet to the sump in response to shifting of the piston. A hydraulic seal is established between the piston and the housing intermediate the chamber and the second outlet to prevent leakage of oil from the chamber into the second outlet. Oil leaking from the chamber could adversely influence the characteristics of oil flowing into the consumer.
