    Abstract: A system including an airbag assembly for a vehicle is disclosed. The airbag assembly includes a housing supporting the airbag, an inflation device (“inflator”) in fluid communication with the airbag for inflating the airbag from an uninflated position to an inflated position, a tether fixed to the airbag that helps control the deployment and inflation of the airbag, and a tether lid configured to open in order to release the tether during deployment. The tether lid is installed in a pillar garnish of the vehicle, and is opened in response to the force of the tether as it is pulled by the deploying airbag.

    Abstract: A vehicle assembly includes a vehicle body including an interior panel, a seat having a frame fixed to the panel, and a seat energy absorber operably associated with the seat and including a backing and a bracket. The backing is formed from the vehicle body and positioned separated from the seat to define a space between the seat and the backing along a length of the panel, and the bracket is mounted in the space on at least one of the seat and the backing such that a proximal end portion of the bracket is located closer to the seat than the backing, and a distal end portion of the bracket is located closer to the backing than the seat. During a crash event a section of the panel is configured to collapse against the seat when the seat is driven toward the panel relative to the vehicle body.

    Abstract: A system for holding containers, such as cups, in a vehicle includes a housing that may form part of a vehicle console. The housing may have an upper surface for receiving the container and defining an opening leading to a compartment. A support for supporting the container may be attached to the housing. The support may be movable between a retracted position in which the support is received within the compartment, and an extended position in which the support extends out of the compartment and laterally over the upper surface to hold the container on the upper surface. The support may be stored in the retracted position when not in use so that the upper surface is usable for other purposes.
