  • Patent number: 10307335
Abstract: A container for collecting, transporting, storing, delivering and dispensing fluid. The container has a hollow tube with an outer circumference diameter and is configured to receive a plunger. A collection adaptor and a dispensing adaptor provide interchangeable coupling of a variable volume container such as a syringe with a collection device such as a breast pump and a dispensing device such as a nipple. The container also has a circumferential seal assembly secured at one end of the hollow tube. The seal assembly outer diameter is substantially similar to the hollow tube outer diameter.

  • Patent number: 10193370
Abstract: Methods and systems for installing an electrical power source in an electrical device can include positioning the electrical power source in a device-charging position associated with a first charge path that has a nonzero electrical resistivity, maintaining the electrical power source in the device-charging position for a nonzero time with a mechanism, and moving the electrical power source from the device-charging position to an installed position associated with a second charge path that has less resistivity than the first nonzero electrical resistivity. Devices can include a mechanism and the first and second charge paths, the mechanism configured to move a power source from a device-charging position to an installed position over a nonzero time.

  • Publication number: 20180345231
Abstract: An apparatus for releasing a gas into a liquid housed in a container has a gas assembly including a source of compressed gas; a float in fluid communication with the source of compressed gas; and a gas release member in fluid communication with the source of compressed gas and the float. The gas release member is adapted to release gas into the liquid. The float has variable buoyancy that causes the float and the gas release member to ascend and descend depending on the buoyancy of the float, the buoyancy of the float being reduced as the gas is released into the liquid.

  • Publication number: 20180284197
Abstract: Systems and corresponding methods for optical monitoring of a state of charge or a state of health of a battery are described. For example, the battery monitoring system may include an imaging device that captures images of cells of the battery and determines states of charge of the cells based on observed dimensional changes over time, e.g., relative to reference markers. The observed dimensional changes may also be corrected for dimensional changes due to thermal strain. In addition, states of health of individual cells of the battery may be determined by comparing the dimensional changes of each of the cells over time. Further, the images may be captured at various frequencies, e.g., based on an expected operational duration of the battery and/or based on a current state of charge or state of health.

  • Publication number: 20180280681
Abstract: A connector for medical fluid vessels includes a fluid-seal fitting such as a male plug defining a lumen and mating with a cooperating connector, a mechanical fastener such as a screw thread for mating with the cooperating connector, and an outer housing positioned around the plug to form an annular space. A cap can be provided with a fluid-seal fitting such as a male plug for mating with the lumen of the connector. In example embodiments, the male plug is tapered and can comprise one or more projections for sealingly engaging with the lumen of the connector. According to some example embodiments, the cap can be tethered to the connector.

  • Patent number: 10064635
Abstract: The devices and methods described herein relate to improved structures for removing obstructions from body lumens. Such devices have applicability in through-out the body, including clearing of blockages within the vasculature, by addressing the frictional resistance on the obstruction prior to attempting to translate and/or mobilize the obstruction within the body lumen.

  • Publication number: 20180071169
Abstract: An improved oral administration coupler for delivery of fluids such as medications and nutritional fluids. Example oral administration couplers have a first end with an applicator for oral delivery to an infant, and a second end with a coupling compatible with an enteral fluid delivery syringe. A fluid delivery conduit extends in fluid communication from the first end to the second end, to deliver fluid from the syringe to the infant. In some example embodiments, the coupler is configured for back-of-mouth delivery, and can comprise a generally elongate and at least partially flexible tube or straw.
