URINE COLLECTION DEVICES ADJUSTABLE BETWEEN COMPACT AND EXTENDED CONFIGURATIONS, AND RELATED METHODS
Publication number: 20230089032Abstract: Examples relate to devices, systems, and methods for fluid collection such as urine. In an embodiment, the urine collection device includes a fluid impermeable barrier and fluid permeable structure. The fluid impermeable barrier is adjustable between an extended configuration and a compact configuration. The fluid impermeable barrier at least partially defines a chamber, an aperture configured to receive a conduit therethrough, and an opening. The fluid permeable structure positioned within the chamber to extend across at least a portion of the opening. The fluid permeable structure configured to wick fluid away from the opening.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2021Publication date: March 23, 2023Inventors: James David Hughett, Kyle Benjamin Daw, Hannah Hinesley, Rodrigo Fernandez, Ginger Hiett, Caitlin Bowles, Henri Madigan, Juan Alejandro Saavedra Cisneros, Hassana Salifu, Benjamin Myers -
Publication number: 20230028575Abstract: Examples relate to devices, systems, and methods for fluid collection such as urine. A urine collection system (100) includes a urine collection device (102) and a sizing device (150) secured or securable to the urine collection device (100). The sizing device (150) includes a body (152) and a recess (185). The body (152) has a distal end (160) and an attachment end (155) distal to the distal end (160). The attachment end (155) defines an opening (180), and the recess (185) extends into the body (152) from the opening (180). The recess (185) is sized and dimensioned to receive a portion of the urine collection device (102) and secure the sizing device (150) to the urine collection device (102).Type: ApplicationFiled: December 30, 2020Publication date: January 26, 2023Inventor: Benjamin Myers

Publication number: 20090027036Abstract: The present invention generally relates to the fabrication of molecular electronics devices from molecular wires and Single Wall Nanotubes (SWNT). In one embodiment, the cutting of a SWNT is achieved by opening a window of small width by lithography patterning of a protective layer on top of the SWNT, followed by applying an oxygen plasma to the exposed SWNT portion. In another embodiment, the gap of a cut SWNT is reconnected by one or more difunctional molecules having appropriate lengths reacting to the functional groups on the cut SWNT ends to form covalent bonds. In another embodiment, the gap of a cut SWNT gap is filled with a self-assembled monolayer from derivatives of novel contorted hexabenzocoranenes. In yet another embodiment, a device based on molecular wire reconnecting a cut SWNT is used as a sensor to detect a biological binding event.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 13, 2008Publication date: January 29, 2009Applicant: The Trustees Of Columbia University In The City Of New YorkInventors: Colin Nuckolls, Xuefeng Guo, Philip Kim, Shengxiong Xiao, Mathew Benjamin Myers
